Well, I got my new EAD yesterday and made me so mad.
1. First they only let you apply for a renewal 120 days before expiration and they offer no guarantees that it will be approved before the old one expires so you have that stress.
2. Next, the July 2007 fillers have to pay every time they renew.
3. They announce the 2 year EADs so USCIS goes into high speed approval mode to make sure they have as few people as possible eligible for 2 yr EADs
4. And then they have the start date on the new EAD not from the date the old one expires, but from the moment they approve it so they cut off few months.

I don't think the EAD is in any way related to the 485. I applied for my EAD at NSC and got it approved in 16 days and I had no LUD on my TSC pending 485 even though I'm current.
There is no method to the maddness! |

I was hoping that the EAD and AP renewal will get attention to my application and somehow I'll get lucky but it was filed at Nebraska while my 485 is with Texas ... the wait continues. |

I did paper filing through my lawyer for both myself and my dependant. I got the approval email for both of us today.
No idea if it's 1 or 2 years but I suspect it's the 1 yr one.
My PD is current now and it's before the end of the month (when they said they'll start the 2-yr EADs). |

I've sent the EAD renewal and was received on the June 9th and today June 25th I got an approval email.
16 days ... wow
For a moment my heart stopped and I thought it was the magic email making me green but no such luck ... yet. |

I'm in the same boat ... no LUDs since the FP in September 2007 but no approval yet either.
Been current for a month now.

Looks like people filling concurrent 140/485 have more luck than the ones with approved 140s.
