Topic: Typo error

Hi Friends
My wifes card has a typo error in her last name.
My lawyer says that sha needs to send a copy of her green card along with evidence documents but I have read that she should send the original green card.
If any one has went through this could pls tell me:
1)Is it better to first go to our local office and get a stamp?
2)Do she need to snd her original G.card to INS?
3)How long it'll take?
4)any other comments?
Thanks a lot :)

Topic: I

Hi
I need help on a critical case for my friend :
Their labor and I-140 got approved through PERM.
For their I-485 they filed July 2007 (EB-3) during those fee changes and their lawyer made mistake on the check and it got rejected and again made another mistakes for 2nd and 3rd time but immigration didn't send any notice till last month that their case has got denied.
At the same time their H-1 got expired and the lawyer didn't renewed it and the reason was because they have applied for I-485.
So now their I-485 has been denied and they have no H-1 so they have been out of status for more than 1 year and by law if we can not do any thing for them and they should leave the states and not come back for 10 years!!!!!!
at the same time the lawyer is working hard to do some thing through the senators and .....but I don't think he can do it since he has made all this mistakes.
So I'm asking for help or any comments from you friends and also if you know a very experienced lawyer in southern california.
They have been in this journy for almost 4 years now with out any result.
Thank you all, :)
