Topic: When are going to stop the trackitting?
Trackitt is the best reality show around. Will A0217 fight back the forces of evil and prevail with her quest? Will Krusty and Smog defeat the unfair RFE? Will Sweetpea find another job in time (tension mounts), yes she did (euphoria all around). Now when will she (and a few million others) get processed? Every day there are emotional roller coasters reported, heart wrenching descisions, and extremes of emotions, for the absolute joy of approval, to the deep despair of rejection. It does not get any better than this.
Maybe the above seems like I am making light of the whole process and the people affected, but I've been there and know the ups and some downs, and I still find it interesting enough to want to read the discussions. And hey if I can help someone in some small way, then great. (my usual comments are stay calm wait for the RFE and act/react to the facts, no use speculating on the unknown). After reading this forum for so long (was a lurker long before I actually joined), you form some sort of emotional bond with some of the main "characters", and I am genuinely interested in how they do, navigating this minefield called the immigration process. After all of the above get their greencards, then maybe I will move on. And in five years time when I can vote, I will still remember these days and this forum. Best wished to you all, and to all a green card. |
Topic: Card Production Ordered Email received but IO says system shows case pending, Any idea?
I too got two Card Production emails (28th and 29th April). Then a few days later a Card Mailed (2 May), got the cards on 3May. Got the notification letter on 6 May.
So kick back, take you mind off things for a while. Try explaining cricket to your American friends, you should recieve your cards long before they understand what reverse swing, short leg, and silly mid off are. "Enjoy" your emotional rollercoaster that you are currently feeling. It is kinda boring after you finally get the cards....... NOT. |
Topic: First time Travel after Green Card
To the best of my knowledge, all members of a family coming through a US border must have their own passports. If your infant is a US citizen, then they must have their own US passport. For all greencard holders then you will need the greencard and a passport. I know when you come in using a visa they want the passport to be valid for a certain number of months, but I am not sure if the same rules apply to Greencard holders, logically it shouldn't but logic has a funny way of disappearing when you are being detailed/refused entry at a border.
They sometimes need to validate that your greencard is real, so you may have to wait for additional processing, this could involve standing in another line with a whole bunch of other greencard holders, or could even be put in a separate room, while they validate the document. Most of my greencard friends have just breezed through the Citizen lines at the airports. They will still take your photo and fingerprint and ask you questions, usually about length of stay outside the country. |
Topic: RFE for family
The will be the longest few days of your life, waiting for the mail to get to you. Make sure you lawyer knows that you are waiting for this, and they are to process it post haste. Otherwise don't agonize over what it could be, just wait for the mail and then deal with the facts. Mine was a simple delaying RFE, resubmit of g325a (no changes from the first one I submitted) and a letter from my employer. On the day I got the email started reading all the RFE type discussions on Trackitt, and got myself into a right royal tizz. Especially when you read about A0217's case, and all the documentation some people had to submit. Stay calm and deal with the facts.
Hang in there Shamwari. Chisarai. |
Topic: April 28th
3:30pm 4/28/2008. Card Production ordered. RFE on 4/3, replied on 17th, got a change of date (soft LUD) on 18th, then nothing until 28th. Now have another LUD, same message. PD 12/2002, and RD of 05/2007.
My advice, don't sweat the unknown, wait for the facts and deal with them (especially if waiting for a RFE or some such). Agonizing over why some people are getting their cards before you, just does more harm than good. But don't just sit back and wait, if your dates are current, find out what is happening, and this is the most frustrating part becasue the IO's or customer service reps never give out any info. Use a senator if you have to. And when you do get an unfair ruling or notification, do a A0217, and fight like a rabid ferret (sorry old girl). I hated those two threads, I485 Rejected, and 485 RFE, lots of documents needed. They gave me nightmares, but make very good reading, and show how small details can muck things up big time. I wish all those caught up in this unfair system the very best, and a speedy resolution.
Chisarai (good bye)
