Topic: EAD for H4 Visa Holders

I am posting this here since we were following H4 EAD law which could have been our solution. Since my situation is little complex please read through full content and provide your expert recommendation.

I am here in US since April 2010 on L1B visa. My visa expires(5 yr completion) June 2015 and same as my I-94 and Petition. I have just started to apply for H1B through my employer for 2015 lottery which if selected becomes effective October 2015.
My wife is pregnant and the due date is middle of July 2015, I wish I can have a US citizen and be around at the time of delivery. What are the options available for me in this situation?

I can think of only one option:
1. Can I convert my L1B visa to H4 based on my wife’s H1B who also got a green card in process and approved I140? If yes, do I need to quit from my employer? Also, is there an option that without quitting can I get transferred to my employer’s India head count and payroll rather than US?

Please suggest.
