Topic: LUD on H1 extn app 7 months after applying
Hi,
I heard for H1B extension, USCIS need to make a decision in 240 days. Since you are close to 240 days, USCIS should be making a decision.
Good luck,

Topic: 485 RFE Birth certificate
Hi,
You must submit affidavits with RFE since birth certificate is issued recently.
If you use speed post you will get documents in 5 - 7 days from India. I don't know how much time left to reply to your RFE. I am not sure if scanned affidavits are accepted or not.
Good luck,

Topic: Infopass appointment
Hi,
Select Case Services follow-up appointment to take infopass. It will inform we should have service request id number. Don't worry about it.
In Infopass you can ask following questions.
Ask whether they have your Biometrics on the file. Ask whether your FBI name check, FBI finger print check, Back ground check are complete. Ask whats the last processing step taken on your case. Ask if your case is assigned to an IO yet
Good luck,

Topic: News from Senator's/USCIS Office - Long tough road ahead ...
Thank you GoGreenWithGC for posting this valuable information.
Next time, please ask them moving forward if GC will be strictly approved based upon priority date. Its sad to see people with later priority dates are getting GCs while people with older priority dates are waiting so long................
I hope UCCIS follows priority date strictly. They messed up twice: last year July making everyone current and last quarter moving PD forward to two years without approving older PD.

Topic: Indian consulte renewed my pp for three months only
Hi eb1desi,
I think you got "short validity passport for 1 year". It happened to me also. When I went to consulate, they informed that my passport number is not in the system. They are going to send a mail to the previous passpost office(Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh) in India which issued my passport and once verification is done, issue 10 years valid passport.
After 45 days we can apply for extension to get 10 years valid passport. I suggest you go to consulate office and check what happened and how to get 10 years valid passport.

Topic: Oct 2008 official bulletin out
E. EMPLOYMENT VISA AVAILABILITY
Item E of the May 2008 Visa Bulletin (number 118, volume VIII) indicated that many Employment cut-off dates had been advancing very rapidly, based on indications that the Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) would need to review a significantly larger pool of applicants than there were numbers available in order to maximize number use under the FY-2008 annual limits. That item also indicated that if the CIS projections proved to be incorrect, it would be necessary to adjust the cut-off dates during the final quarter of FY-2008. The CIS estimates have proven to be very high resulting in: 1) the “unavailability” of all Employment Third preference categories beginning in July, 2) the “unavailability” of numbers for China and India Employment Second preference adjustment of status cases during September, and 3) the establishment of many October Employment cut-off dates which are earlier than those which applied during FY-2008.
Little if any forward movement of the cut-off dates in most Employment categories is likely until the extent of the CIS backlog of old priority dates can be determined. It is estimated that the FY-2009 Employment-based annual limit will be very close to the 140,000 minimum.
-------------------------
From above official visa bulletin --- It looks USCIS agreed that visa number are unavailable for India and China in September.
Any comments? |
Topic: Status of name check
Hi GCCool,
It should be assigned based upon I-485 Recieved date.
It's not possible to predict when they really assign the case to an io office. Atleast it gives some hope if case is assigned to io officer.
