Topic: H1B has expired. Safe to Travel with AP?

I am working with my EAD. And I have just received my AP. Is it safe to travel? Will I have problems returning from Canada?

Topic: Finger Printing Error

My wife did find her Finger Print Notice. She apparently forgot that she had put it in her purse. So the only thing really missing is a stamp from them. But I suspect this will not really matter.

Topic: Finger Printing Error

My wife went for her Biometrics today. But I think something went wrong. My wife did not bring back her Finger Printing notice. She said the man that did the finger printing did not give it back to her. What now? We are planning on going back to the process to try and retrieve the paper with the appropriate stamp on the paper.....

Help

Topic: Biometrics

What should I expect when I go to do my biometrics? How long will it take? What is the process like? Any ideas would be helpful.

Topic: Immigration to Canada

I am also a Canadian trying to get his GC. I lived most of my life in Canada. But left in 2001, because I was tired of the very high cost of living in Vancouver. The lack of jobs and opportunities, and horrible pay makes that high cost of living unbearable.

The health care system in Canada is fine assuming you get the the care, ie you will have to be on a wait list for a lot of things. The wait lists just keeps growing every year. Doctors and nurses leave Canada every year because of better pay and better opportunity. So don't let people fool you into believing the Canadian health is so wonderful. How can it be if health care professionals are are leaving.

Job opportunities are far and few for Canadian born individuals. What does that mean for new immigrants???? Not a lot of opportunities. While living in Vancouver, I would go to restaurants and meet PH.D 's working as waiter and waitress in restaurants!!! They cannot get jobs, because of their language skills, and the most famous phrase "NO CANADIAN WORK EXPERIENCE, THEREFORE WE CANNOT HIRE YOU!!!!!"

Stick it out for your GC. Don't lose hope.

Topic: filed a I765 on May16

Shyam1279,

Congrats, that means your EAD has been approved and cards are being made. I believe you do not need finger printing if you file I765 on paper and not electronically.

Topic: Is it mandatoy ?

I cannot renew my H1 as I am on year 6 and I was not eligible for extension. At this point I am not planning on any travel and will just wait for I484 approval.

I am also a canadian citizen. I think rules for under 30 days are different and donot need a visa stamp/AP etc. Google contiguos territory rule for under 30 days. Also rules are different when you travel by car. I dont think you would visa to come back to usa but check with authorities to be sure.

If your I-140 is approved, you are eligible for extensions beyond 6 years.

The reason I cannot extend my H1 is I still have not received approval on tie I-140 and the H1 has already expired at this point....But I will google the contiguous territory rule. I have never heard of it.

I am a Canadian Citizen, H1 has expired. I have EAD approved. I485 and I140 are pending. Do I need AP if I travel to Canada for 2 weeks?

Topic: Is it true?

I had a filing date of 04/08/2008. On 05/22/2008 I requested expedite and I received a letter on 05/30/2008 that I met the expedite requirements and should have an answer within 30 days. I then received my card order email on 06/27/2008, so almost 30 days and then I received the cards in the mail on 07/08/2008.
