Topic: painful situation
Things are getting better, that I am thankful, kids are in school and are actually a grade higher than they would be in US.
Whilst no job yet, we're surviving, the US dept of state as recently as 2 days ago said my namecheck is still pending. I honestly am starting to love canada, a better option for us for various reasons.
I have a Pakistani friend who went through a long name-check , he lost his job in US, and when the visa came he didnt want it, now they questioned him why he did'nt want the visa, OMG those people !! |

Friend, do you have any good news for us? What are the recent developments? Have you heard anything from US embassy? We are still thinking of you .
Please keep us posted.
Thank you very much for asking. No good news yet from the US . We have moved on, Canada is our new country now. We're slowly making ourselves a home.
God Bless. |

Faama,
I really feel sorry for what you are going through. I hope this ends soon. Remember: "So, verily, with every difficulty, there is relief: Verily, with every difficulty there is relief." 94.005-.006. I understand you already know this, but a reminder is always good for everybody (and firstly for me). Just a point, somebody told me about these two verses: difficulty is mentioned with AL- so it is specific and limited while Relief is generalized and Unlimited.
And the reasons that you suspect initiated this, actually make it something that will be useful for you in future (both near and far). Insha Allah. You are in my prayers.
Thank you brother/sis for your prayers, indeed, in these very hard times it is hope that keeps me on board, when I wake up and see my family with me, I hope/pray that that new day brings something better than yesterday. I know there is a bright future ahead InshA, its just a matter of time. |

I have lived by the law for the 8 yrs I have been in the US, my credit history is very good, dont wanna ruin that. I think I'll just ask friends to send my stuff to public storage, my unpaid leave ends nxt mnth, no job after that, so better stay in Canada continue looking for employment. US lease ends October 08.
AILA said based on my situation I would need a private lawyer.
Left a msg for WA Senetor's lawyer, I have yet to wait for his call or I call back.
Thank you all for your continual support. I really appreciate. |

hi Trackbuzz, nice to read from you !
tried sublease, havent been successful yet.
am not looking for jobs in Europe/Asia, as first I'd like to fulfill the citizenship requirements in Canada, so I can have freedom to go anywhere I want. I feel like I better have the Canadian PP first than remain with my current one.. |

Thank you , I have already called and left them a message. That was thoughtful of you.
So, as I promised to keep folks here updated about the job interview I had in Canada, unfortunately, it wasnt meant to be, they closed the post, the guy who was to leave did not leave anymore.
These days I call the Dept of State daily, to ask about background check, all they say is its still pending, and every visa specialist there gives me different info, one said I couldnt do anything except wait, another told me I could open a follow-up case after 45 business days, and another told me a follow up is only done after 6 months. Nevertheless, I whined and whined and angried up, they did a follow up yesterday, no guaranteed results but I tried. so lets see. Am renting a basement apartment in Toronto, I'm still paying rent back in WA, my landlord in WA understands my situation well, but says am still responsible for rent till end of my lease, does anyone know if am exempt from this rule, since am not in the country and that I have no control over this situation? |

Faama, this whole story is rediculous and not acceptable, I do not think you should let it go. You should fight it until the end, you need you lawyer to intervene,, you also need to file a law suit against that officer and USCIS for pain and suffer, I will donate 100$ for this cause, I am serious.
if H1 was not doable so ask for cousuler processing? aAre you outside the US for more than one month? if not an you still have a vaild H1 I94, why do not you try to go through from another port of entry or flying?[/Q]
Thank you for your concern, and the donation :)
I have been outside of US for almost 2 months now,, If i still had the H1 I94, I would have tried getting in, but i dont have any document to help me get back into US, she took AP, I94 as well, H1 copies are at the consulate, only option is the visa. The Dept of State says they can only follow up on my backgrnd check after 45 business days, that would be July24th, so I call them back again.
I do not wish to ask for consular processing, definitely not in my budget (application fee, redo medicals, etc) esp with no income, and in a new country, but when I get canadian PP, I will come back to US with a TN visa, I hear its easier.
NB- I have not heard from the job interview I did,,plz pray for me. |
