You should be getting your card soon. I got my card yesterday, within 7 days from the first approval notice sent. It is likely that you will get in before the end of the week.

If your employer says you can work with the approval notice, then it is great. My employer did not want me to start until I receive my EAD card. While my OPT was approved and started months ago, I was not sure if there will be new start date in my second application to replace the misplaced EAD.

I am very sure that only after approval they give the order to produce a card. It says within 30 days, one will get a card. I think it takes about a week. I am waiting for mine too. According to the rule, EAD card is needed to start working. Have you talked with your employer about it?

My current case status is the same. The case has been approved and they have ordered the EAD card. It is a plastic card just like a driver's license/id.

Did you and your friend send application at the same time? I have been hearing bad comments about VSC from somewhat reliable sources and most of the time taking at least 60-90 days of processing time (recently). I am also waiting for EAD to arrive so I can start work.

Topic: Lost EAD and repplication

I visited the local USCIS few days ago. I was told that my previous EAD (send thru mail) has not yet been returned back to USCIS. If it was, it would have updated the status since I filed a new application to replace the lost EAD. Currently I have the second application pending. That means I still have two receipt numbers in two applications. Which one is likely to be canceled?

My expedite request was denied in less than day. When I tried to make another request, they told me that I have to wait for 60 more days to put another request. But generally it takes up five days for them to contact the petitioner after a request has been made. Then you have to provide additional proofs that your request falls under one of the criteria. I believe it will accelerate the process that the normal processing time when an expedite request has been approved. I am not sure about the time frame. You might have to look at other posts in this forum.

Requesting an expedite does not hurt because it is independent of the normal processing time. If it it approved, then the application will be processed in a relatively short time. Read the expedite procedures and criteria from the USCIS web site.
You can request an expedite a request over the phone. It is the easiest and the fasted way.I would prefer over night express mail over fax.

Topic: Lost EAD and repplication

I made an expedite request yesterday. I got an email reply within 18 hrs telling me it was denied. I am trying to put another request to tell them that it falls under one of the expedite criteria. I believe my case falls under the "Extreme emergent situation".. I have to contact the employer with two days to accept that offer while my current application is still pending. Do you think I should talk with my employer in this matter? Also do you think it is worth making an appointment in INFOPASS or request another expedite request to convince it is really an urgent situation.

Topic: Lost EAD and repplication

When my fee waiver request was denied, the application was sent back to me including a purple paper which said that it was to be put on top of all the documents when mailing them back. It sounded like a expedite consideration or something that would consider my application in the order it was first received. The notice of action came in a very short time. The application was received on Aug 12 and is pending at the moment. It has been a four weeks now. I am not sure how long I still have to wait. Is there a way to check if my application has been considered for expedite? Or do you think it is just a waste of time and it is probably worth waiting? Is it worth visiting the local USCIS center again than to talk with a representative on the phone?. The time spent on my EAD case from my initial date of application (late March) has been over five and half months now. Do USCIS issue temp EAD?
