Topic: story for friday

I wanted to share this with everyone b/c it just reinforces that USCIS is messed up, and it's a good laugh for a friday.

I went to a cookout at a friend's house few weeks ago, met a person there who turns out to be an officer for USCIS. I think he is in deportation of criminal immigrants. Anyhow, he finds out that I'm waiting for my greencard b/c someone else told him. He comes over to me and starts throwing out all kind of terms. I told him that I'm a non-resident immigrant, but waiting for AOS. He starts talking about how immigrants don't understand the process and what it takes to be in this country. Then, he says only way I'll get to stay in this country is to have "blood" meaning family sponsor me, or I should just marry a US citizen. I told him there was a difference b/w family and employment based petitions. Also it would take longer if my brother sponsored me b/c he has a greencard, not yet a citizen. He insisted I would never get my papers and I won't be able to live here much longer. He even flashed his badge at me like he was going to deport me right then and there.

Finally someone told him to calm down and he left soon. A friend proposed to me with a hotdog.

I am starting to think maybe I'll never get my papers. but I guess I can stay here to find out...

Topic: Infopass experience for FP notice

I'm an Aug/07 filer, still have not received the FP notice. I finally took an Infopass appointment. The IO was professional. As soon as she took my receipt number, she said I should have definitely received one by now. She sent an e-mail to the service center. She said she can see that my case is pending "agency" check, but she couldn't see if a notice was ever sent. She wanted to make sure it didn't seem like I had abandoned the FP notice. I didn't even bother asking how long it would take. At least now there is a service request....

Topic: Question about Infopass

This may be a dumb question but I need help.
I went online to set up an Infopass appointment today.
I'm an Aug/07 filer, still have not received my finger print notice.

The website asks what type of appointment you need, there are 4 catagories.
I have never filed a SR request.
So I don't seem to fit in any of those 4 catagories.
Which one do I choose???

Topic: Concurrent Filers

my corp lawyer told me the other way around:
I-140 gets approved first then I-485? Not sure if both gets processed together though.

Topic: EB3 Approval for PD in 2005

I thought the recent approvals on PD 2005 were cases that were not concurrent...
I looked at the tracker last night, there are few EB3 approvals with RD Jul/Aug 2007, but they were not filed concurrently.
I don't know if that makes a difference..

Topic: Question about calling TSC or taking InfoPass

My RD is Aug/2007. I still have not received a FP notice. I'm ready to either call TSC or take a Infopass.
Can you guys advise which is more effective?
also do I need to advise my corp lawyer that I'm doing this?
