Topic: HSMP waiting times

Hi mjmco, I can sympathise with you. My girlfriend and I sent our applications in the same box as well, and they assumed there was only the one application in there and they lost track of mine. You would think the least they could do is actually examine the contents of a package when they receive it to see what is in there. Anyway, they took her payment, then sent the box to the processing center. I was told I would have to wait for it to work it's way through the system. When it was opened at the processing center (they take all of the documents and scan them, the caseworkers only ever see the scanned versions), they realised their mistake, and sent my app back to the payment processing, where it started again. My girlfriend's application was approved in mid-April, but mine due to this delay has been put behind the huge influx of applications in late February (it is marked as being received on 13th March). We are due to fly out on 22nd June. Very stressful.

To add to all of that, my application was being filed just prior to my 28th birthday. Now it is marked as being received after my birthday. I have called them several times and been assured that the caseworker will be notified about what has happened, but it wouldn't surprise me if they denied my age points. Sheer incompetence.
