Topic: EAD for H4 Visa Holders

i wish i had known about this meeting earlier, unfortunately, i stopped following trackitt completely.
but if it helps for future, here is my story..

I came to US in 2000, did Bachelor and MS from a US university, in 2003 went back to India and returned to US in 2006 on H1b. My company applied for GC in 2010 and now I have approved 140 and waiting for 485...in the meantime i got married in 2007, my wife is here on H4 and obviously not able to work...but here is the interesting part....in 2009 I applied for a Canadian PR through the Alberta provincial nomination scheme for US H1b holders and we all received it in late 2010,,all this without ever putting a foot in Canada. Even then still I remained in US hoping something would happen here i.e. immigration reform, H4 EAD, remove country limits on EB or even reclaiming the lost GC numbers from past years but nothing happened so far....now I am moving to Canada on May 15th so that I can maintain my PR there and most importantly my wife can work there...I am leaving behind my brand new house to a renter , i have to relocate, change my son's school, basically totally uproot my life and re-settle in another country...the only good part in this is that my current company agreed to keep my job and let me work remotely from Canada for 2 years so that I can maintain my PR..but why all this hassle....for what ..there are other friends in my company who do not have this option..if Canada as a country / government understands this or takes advantage of the situation here in US i wonder how come this WH or Obama doesn't understand the urgency of this matter, it will make it so simple to plan our lives to be much better,,

there are days when I wish we all just leave this country at once and go.. only then they will understand the importance of each and everyone of us who contribute so much to the US companies...the only reason my company allowed me to work remotely is because they need my experience and skills, only if all of us take our skills and let these companies figure out how to replace then may be their eyes will open up...desperate situations require desperate actions... however the reality is we all have become educated mute modern day slaves here...

Topic: Passport Request (PPR) from Seattle for AINP (Alberta)

Yes, seattle informed me that it was a mistake and there is no need to send any letter from employer. Just the passports.

Topic: Passport Request (PPR) from Seattle for AINP (Alberta)

Guys,

I received a Passport request last evening from the Canadian Consulate General, Seattle. I am supposed send passport within 30 days.
It states the following
----------
You must also submit the following item(s) with your passport(s).
- Updated letter of reference from the employer that nominated you, dated within the last two weeks, confirming your current and ongoing employment.

Please note: If you are no longer employed by the employer that nominated you, then you must notify this office prior to submitting your passport(s).
------

The concern I have is that my AINP nomination was not based on the employment. No employer nominated me. Nomination was based on my H1b visa status in the USA though the special U.S. Visa Holder Category for AINP. I was never employeed with any Canadian Employer. My H1b status is still valid in USA and I work with a US employer.

Has anyone received similar passport request with this statement? what does this mean? I am totally confused with this.

Also does any one know if there is any way to request more time/extension to submit the passport. The reason is that my wife and son are in India with their passports and they have an appointment for H4 visa on Feb 10th. So I am in a kind of sticky situation right now.

appreciate all the comments and suggestion anyone might have,

thanks,

Topic: FSW application returned from Buffalo Office

Hi All,

I had sent my FSW application on Nov 26th,08 , it was returned today, I just got it.
It has a letter that requires me to send

1. Current or expired entry/exit stamps in your national passport
2. Current or expired status documents indicating the date you were admitted and the validity of the documents issued on that date.
3. I-94 card
4. I-797

Though no where it mentioned in the check list for buffalo office to send I94 or I-797, anyhow, they mentioned to resubmit the application with above documents.
my questions are as follows,

1. My returned application has a "Date of receipt stamp at post" of Nov 28th. Should I be sending a completely new application all over again or send the same forms ?
2. My police clearance certificate from India expired on Dec 3 since it was issued on Sept 03 (Over 3 months now) but it was actually still valid on the "Date of receipt stamp at post" of Nov 28th if my application was not returned. Now do I have to get a new police clearance in order to resubmit my application or the old one should still be valid?
3. Whats the number to call Buffalo Office where they might actually answer the phone and help me?
4. If they returned the application once, I belive that all the problems with the application are notified at that time itself, all at once, I hope they do not return the application for some other reason/ documents again after I resubmit it with the documents they have currently requested. Any comments???

I would really appreciate any and every suggestion/ remarks/ thoughts about these question, please feel free to write.

thanks.
