Thanks for your response. Yes, I will get in touch with a lawyer for more legal opinion. It's just that I left my previous/sponsoring employer without resigning/informing I hope he does not screw up anything now. Seems like he will not but you never know. From my side all's good, always been in good immigration status, paying taxes etc etc. Now I'm wondering did I make a mistake to apply for Unemployment benefits? |

Thanks for your response. I have been in the US for past 13 year and working all the time. This is the first time I got laid off due to bad economy, more news on CNN.com/Money. My concern is as I have filed for Unemployment benefits and recently received my GC, this year and not working for my sponsoring company after 6 months of 485 filing, AC21. will it affect my GC status. Like when they open up the records. My previous employer called me and said he receieved a phone call from the labor dept. He would call them back and tell them that I was not eligble for benefets when with him, fair enough and true but how does this transition works or has any negative impact on my status.

Hi, I got my Green Card in May 2008 but got laid off on October. I was not working with my sponsoring employer as I used EAD and joined a new employer. I applied for Unemployment benefits and mentioned the new employer for information.
The labor dept. called my previous employer for confirming my previous employment but at that time I was on H1B visa.
Previous employer called me and asked if I applied for Unemployment Benefits, I said yes but I only filled the form witht he company I was working with on Green Card.
Can anyone let me know how oes this work? I'm now concerned. Will it affect my GC status? Please help!! |

Alrighty then....received my CARD on Saturday!!!! Phew!! that took a while. All looks well on the card. No typos...thank god!!
Excited to see it today morning. Did not check my mails thinking the card won't arrive anytime soon as TSC has just begun to look into cases which were delayed!! Had a soft LUD after talking the IO and that's it...no Card Mailed email.
I'm outta this now. Wish you all a Happy Card Receiving!!! and future!!

Bhole your case was approved on April 17 08. You have not received your card yet? as per your profile.
Please join this thread. Some us with approved cases over a month are keeping track of the card on the thread.

Welcome to the club. Well, seems like the problem is with TSC. It does not matter where you reside As you can see all of us are TSC cases, either transfered from other srvice center or originally from there. Now, my guess is based on the fact that TSC is slow lately in sending the cards compare to NSC but residing in a particular state is not an issue. |

Sounds good. I'll be calling today and will try to talk to an IO.
a2zgc got her wife's card without going for another biometric. We should all try for that as that will be faster if they can locate our already done biometrics. I believe going for another Bio will delay more. We should remind them, their IQ levels are lower than a 5th grader, that FPs don't change for life and they should find them. |
