Topic: It may be easier to become president of America compared to getting GC!!!

From virtually unknown to President of America in 2 years! That's just an incredible story and history in the making! Obama would go down in the history as the greatest!

But it probably would have taken a lot longer than 2 years to get GC, if he's in the situation like many of us who are waiting! ;)

Topic: How long to work for sponsoring employer after GC. Please see my research

would cancel GC because you left employer early?

NO. The only time(that i know of) they can cancel GC is if they see any fraud.

Topic: How long to work for sponsoring employer after GC. Please see my research

Although there is NO SPECIFIC LAW about how long you must stay in the position for which you were sponsored, the GUIDANCE is that if an employee stays in the sponsored position for at least 6 months after the green card is approved then he/she should be able to make a good faith argument that it was the initial intent that the sponsored position be a permanent one, but that a new opportunity simply became available.
The guidance varied from lawyer to lawyer and since there is no clear text in law for this, the best we got it guidance.
If you have good reason to exit then you are fine, or else stay put.

Topic: EAD - Can you become partner?

Business investments are allowed on H1B or EAD. So if the nature of your partnership is just business then you are fine. If your partnership involves working for them in a different role that is not specified on H1B/LC then that might pose issues. For specifics you would need to check with a lawyer.

Topic: Employer Laid off - Impanct on Naturalization

Lalito,
You have nothing to worry if you get into this situation. Layoff is a legitimate reason for leaving your sponsering employer because it was not your intention to leave but the situation caused it to leave.
It's fine, really.

Topic: New green card holder wanted to change job – help needed

Technically you can do what ever you want once you get your GC.

There is no specific law about how long you must stay in the position for which you were sponsored.
Since USCIS cannot look into your brain to see the intent, guidance(don't confuse this for law or rule) is that if an employee stays in the sponsored position for at least 6 months after the green card is approved then he/she should be able to make a good faith argument that it was the initial intent that the sponsored position be a permanent one, but that a new opportunity simply became available.
If you leave immediately after getting your GC then it's hard to convince an officer if questioned about the intent because it looks like you just waited for GC to leave the employer.

Topic: Mailing the Green Card - Is it Legal?

Thank you kindly for your research!

This is exactly what I suspected. I have seen members practically chastising others for advising this action when in my mind it was clear that this was quite likely totally legal.

And to those that barked at such people, kindly show a bit more humility.

What??? Dude, your expectations are just unbelievable! You basically asking others do the stuff for you and demanding that it be done accurately....and you want all that for free!

Let's review your expectations here...
1. You want someone else to do research for you while you sit there and judge people.
2. If you have such low expectations from this group and you already know the answer then why do you even bother to ask your question?
3. You expect people not to provide their opinion but provide precise answer for your question! Wowww...let me remind you that this is not your legal council and you should go to a lawyer when you need things the way you expect.
4. You don't even wait for a day before complaining that there are no responses...
You judge others because they didn't work on what you wanted?!

>>>I'm still open to it being Illegal but ***won't accept it until I read it***!
Like anybody cares whether you accept it or not.

>>> And to those that barked at such people, kindly show a bit more humility.
Have a hard look at yourself one more time please...
