Topic: Work ( Project) finished but Temp Resident VISA and work permit still valid

Hi ,

I am working in Canada on a valid work permit from May 08, I am into IT and I recently got to know that my project is going to an end next month, so my question is :-

(1) I have valid Temp Resident VISa and work permit till Nov 2009, Can I stay in Canada if I leave my current job? Although I know I will not be able to work because the work permit was specific to the emloyer and not Open.
(2) Lets say If I leave my current job in Canada and stay here for couple of months more and If I have worked for 9 months out of 12 months and lived in Canada legally on a valid Work permit for 1 year, will I be able to apply as FSW after 1 year according to the new rules?

Looking forward for your replies.

Many thanks in advance.

Kind regards

Topic: what if already in canada and passport is requested

Nid,

If you go to US post and tell them that you do not wish to enter United States and you just came to complete the formality, they will give you a rejection letter which you need to take back to Canada post and show it to the officer. Based on that letter they can complete all your landing formalities.

Its very easy process.

take care
Harsh

Topic: Need advice ON FSW

Hi Everybody,

I am planning to apply for FSW from buffalo. I have 4+ years of experience and working in canada on work permit since May 2008. I initially got my wp for 6 months. My work permit is just renewed for another year. It;s valid till Nov 2009. I am a software consultant. I am single at the moment and getting married next month. My fiancee is graduate and working in India.

I asked my employer to provide letter of ref. and a letter which states that I am working in english language, but they refused to supply these for immigration purposes.

I have my joining letter, my increment letters and all letters issued by my company. I also have letter from my university which states that I have completed by B-Tech ( Computer Sc) in english language.

(1) Please advise if I can apply the FSW application in Buffalo using all the ref letters from my employer which I currently have and English letter from my university. After sending the application, I am also planning to write IELTS exam in next 3 months.

(2) I also understand that once I complete 1 year on work permit, I will score another 10 points, so after applying the application, I am planning to send my salary stubs, bank staements and all required documents to prove my 1 year of canadian experience, Can I do that? I mean If I send those after I file my application, will they add these points to my application ?

Your help in this regard will be much appreciated.

Many thanks for your time.

Hi slvrblt11,

I sense, they waived IELTS for you. Could you please tell me how many points you are scoring and what was the documents that you have provided.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Many thanks for your help.
