Do not worry. You have to recall the atmosphere in 2001 and then in airline industry. You will be fine. I am not sure if attorney can help you. Hopefully you should get some movement in next couple of months. They may contact Egyptian authorities and this may become a bottleneck. i hope not. Good luck! if no movement in two months start thinking about WOM.

Faama,

I really feel sorry for what you are going through. I hope this ends soon. Remember: "So, verily, with every difficulty, there is relief: Verily, with every difficulty there is relief." 94.005-.006. I understand you already know this, but a reminder is always good for everybody (and firstly for me). Just a point, somebody told me about these two verses: difficulty is mentioned with AL- so it is specific and limited while Relief is generalized and Unlimited.

And the reasons that you suspect initiated this, actually make it something that will be useful for you in future (both near and far). Insha Allah. You are in my prayers.

have you received your card now?

Topic: AR 11 Screw Up and Card Missing

Just call them at the number given on your Receipt. It will prompt you for " Card approved not received " menu.

Did you also change the address for I-485? It is different from AR-11. I had the same problem. Mine was sent to old address (while my wife got her to the correct new address). It went back to CIS , they figured it was sent to wrong address and that new address is on file.So they sent it to new address. I never contacted them. I did get a soft LUD on I-485 (and also an LUD on my old EAD) . Later there was a " new card mailed" status change when it was resent. Received about 4 days later.
You should get a "card mailed" e-mail in next two days.

Topic: Should I pay up again??

for letters (SRC) press 772. LIN 546 . This is already printed on phones with numbers. the automated system will confirm the letters later. Call them and confirm if they need add'l fee. I think they should not as you already have a receipt number.

Also check online the status of your application at www.uscis.gov. May be make an account uscis website, if you have not already done that.

Topic: Date to apply for EAD extension if currently on H-1B

As far as I know, you do not "have" to apply for EAD, if your H-1 is valid and good. see this link: http://murthy.com/aosfaqs.html#3
question 3.

If you decide to do it, you do not need to do it through an attorney. DIY is easy and only CIS fee ($340~). However, you second issue of EAD non-availability needs inputs from attorney. Call CIS and check the status. Sometimes it is returned due to wrong addresses on file on address change.

It is 120 days. You are well within that time.

Topic: Does USCIS send EAD card via first class?

yes it is first class. but they also have "Return Service Requested" on some envelopes. In this case, they are not forwarded and rather returned to CIS. Call them immediately to notify change of address. Also file AR-11 asap.

In my case, once the document was forwarded by USPS. In an other case, it was sent back to CIS. So any thing can happen.
