Topic: HSMP approved in June 1st week and Now want to apply for EC under Tier1 - Applying from UK

I have already got HSMP approval dated on 6th June 2008.At present i am in UK on Work Permit.
Now i want to apply for EC under Tier1 category from UK.I am not sure how long its going to take.As i am planning to visit Italy/France in Mid August but bit worried about applying for EC today and till mid august if HO may hold my passport.

Anyone who have already applied for EC under Tier1 from UK and got itapproved, can you please update your time lines ?
