Thanks everyone for your good wishes. I am actually halfway through since my hubbie is yet to get his approval and we have RFE on the kids. But since I am the primary applicant we are hoping that the rest of the family will also be included soon. Better late than never! We will continue to pray for all of you too.

Hello darslee,

Could you please let me know why your children got RFE? is it something to do with their ages? My kids are 18 and 15 years old and were born in India. My husband though my derivative, was born in Myanmar(Burma) but has his own H1B and EAD.My elder son has his own EAD too. Thanks in advance.

Topic: Marriage troubles...

Vijayyy,

I am absolutely for keeping the family together, especially if you have a small child who needs her/his mother. But your case seems similar to one of my friend's case whose wife was messing around and yet blamed him for domestic abuse and in fact called in the police. He had to go to court, pay alimony for years, shared visitation rights etc. etc. When the child turned 14, he chose to stay with his dad and his mom gave up all rights! Quite a story but may be a rare one. My friend and his son have an excellent relationship and the kid is great too. He has a PD of Sep 2005, and had I 140 sanctioned sometime in 2006. Now, the last step is what he is waiting for. His ex-wife did not return to India since she is in a relationship with somebody from the US and is on a F1 visa.

On the other hand, if your relationship with your wife is redeemable and you both sit down, discuss etc. etc. you may have a better future together. Ultimately it is your decision of course, taken with a view to your and your child's future.

Best wishes to you and your family.

Topic: may 2004 case waiting.

I had called the NSC a few days ago and the IO said that the NC does not matter since the 180 day memo is being applied. I got my Card production ordered email on the 19th of Aug. There was another LUD on that again today and a repeat e-mail. So I guess you should also get yours based on this. Best of luck!

Topic: What does a Green Card mean to you?

It was interesting to read the different perspectives people have about their GC experiences. I do not disagree that life in India for a certain section of people is fantastic, much much better than one can even imagine in this country. But, for most people it is still the same daily drudgery made worse with pollution, politics etc. etc. What I wanted for myself and my family was a pollution free and hassle free living. I have been fortunate enough to have been employed by the same employer since 2000 (when I came here)- a great university with a huge International student body where me and my family members are honored and held in esteem. I also held very prestigious positions in India, may be better than what I have had here, but even then, when I think of the opportunities in sports, education and research that my kids are getting here, I cannot go back. Making enormous amounts of money was never my dream. My dream has always been of true freedom which I think only the US can offer.

If you are gone that far that the break up is imminent then I suggest you apply just for yourself now. She can get her GC once you get yours on the basis of family quota. I have a friend who was in a similar situation , his marriage broke up and he applied for himself and his kid. She is fending for herself.

Just received "Card production ordered" e-mail from CRIS. Also, my status has been updated to "Card production ordered". There is no LUD for my husband and the kids. Anyone in this situation?

Topic: Filing Law-suite for not approving PR 2001

In fact there are several cases that murthy law firm has won in such situations. But of course each case is different. So you need to proceed with caution.

I find it quite astonishing that you did not take this recourse earlier. Hope you succeed this time. Like many I am also stuck at April 2004 while 2005/ 06 are getting approved! Anyway, wish you all the best.
