You dont need an SSN to start working. You can start work without SSN and then apply for one.Its just without SSN your taxes will be withheld completely

Topic: Change company after i140 approval... ?

Hello There , Can one of you help me make a decision / take next steps. I am on my 9th year on expiring exactly in 6 months and 2 weeks . I have my prioriy date as Dec 24 2011. My i140 is approved and i am offered a full time position at my client. Like many of you i am waiting for the dates to get current So i can get some long term stability and settle in one place and i am exited to take up the Full time oppurtunity. My current employer is saying he will revoke i140 if i transfer to the Client.

Q1 ) Is it a wise move to transfer H1 now and restart my Perm process at this time ?

Q2 ) How will this affect my H4 wifes EAD application

Topic: L1 to H1B status

Hi There ,

I am currently in a similar situation. I was in L1 and i applied for H1 which got approved . Now legally i am on H1 Status and still am working for L1 company.

what did you do - to retain your L1 and cancel the H1... my current employer is not withdrawing the application...

can you please advise what you did to tackle this situations
