If the new bill is passed, minister has discretion whether s/he will process an individual case or not. I've heard that citizens of some countries which have already sent "too many" immigrants (e.g. India, China, possibly Korea and Japan) may be biased against even if s/he is employed (AE) /educated in Canada... If the bill is not passed (i.e. rejected at the Parliament), the current process (first come first serve, every case above 67 points will be processed system) will continue to be effective. In a nutshell, I really want the proposed bill to be rejected. This is the line of reasoning many neutral immigrant groups, including immigrantcanada.ca, take. |
