Topic: 8th Year H1 Extension Denied, EAD Valid, what should I do next ... Please help

Sorry to hear about this, Did you consult yr attorney, maybe they rejected because of some issue with the company. If you switch company and apply for H1 then wht r yr chances. I guess yr attorney should have good idea. Since u maintained H1 till now so transfer should be possible and u can have H1 as yr backup.

Topic: Landing after expiry of Immigrant visa: Please advise

I am not in canada, am working in the US on a H1 visa. I could have landed before but since i was not sure about the AVR and I have an expired h1 stamp on my passport so I did not complete the landing. I think I will have to reapply.

Topic: Landing after expiry of Immigrant visa: Please advise

I sent another email with all the details and the consulates response is they cant extend, do i need to restart this process. Here is the consulate's response. Does it make sense to visit the consulate in person will this help.

Sir, we can not extend your visas. When you came to our office on 3 July 2008, the office advised you of the landing date, and instructions on landing.

Please refer to the following site, about new procdures about applying for PR inside Canada.

Please return unused CPR forms so we can initiate the RPRF refund..

Topic: Landing after expiry of Immigrant visa: Please advise

I had sent an email to the Buffalo consulate and here is the reply, does it mean that i can apply for temporary travel permit and once in Canada apply for the PR. In my email I haven't mentioned about traveling and applying for a PR, I think i missed that point, does it matter. I had sent them the Immigrant file number and the immigrant visa number so i anticipated that they will check my file before replying Here is my email and the response that i received. Please advise should I travel. I intend to travel for the PR and not for any other purpose.

Email to the consulate:

Dear Sir/Madam,
I,XXXX intend to immigrate to Canada . I received an immigration visa, Since I had less time on my visa and I was stuck up with my current job so unfortunately I was not able to travel within the specified time. My immigrant visa expired on Aug 18th and I was not able to travel before Aug 18, 2008. Now I intend to travel and hence this request. I would like to request you for a visa/travel document so I can travel, I am willing to provide any or all the information in this regard.
I take this opportunity to thank you for your anticipated co-operation in this matter. If you require any further information, please feel free to contact me, I will readily provide any or all the information.

Response from Buffalo consulate :

Thank you for your interest in Canada. The answers to your questions are in the guide found at

Topic: Landing after expiry of Immigrant visa: Please advise

Last month aug 18th my visa has expired, they had issued me only 1 month visa maybe because my medicals was done at early stage and the processing time was almost 1 yr after the medicals, maybe becuse of my lengthy processing they might have issued me 1 month visa. I have written to the consulate, hopefully they do something positive.
