Topic: Petition transferred to new office

Congratulations and thanks so much for your thorough answer! I'm so happy for you guys. I hope our case goes as smoothly now. We also had "issues" because we prepared the I-130 and I-485 together, but at the last minute when we read the instructions on the website we thought we had to send each application to a different lock box. So the cases got separated and it took us about 4 months to get a receipt number. Sigggghhhhh.

So did it take a few weeks for them to get to your case? Did you get several LUD's (changes to the last updated date)?

Well, I'm really glad your application went fast and I hope for the best. Good luck with the rest of your application.

Topic: Petition transferred to new office

Hi Sunshine and deserving,

We just saw the same thing online with our case being transferred from VSC to CSC. Our receipt was back in January 2008 so I hope they honor the original receipt date.
Did you get a new receipt number when your case went from Texas to Chicago and Vermont?
Also, has your status online changed? Does it still say transferred? I wonder if they will mark it received when it gets to the new services center.
thanks,

Topic: I-130 transferred to California! Any ideas why, how long, processing method?

Just checked the status online and our I-130 was marked transferred to California Service Center from VSC. This is really strange because we live on the East coast. Our case has been pending since January 31, 2008!

I would really appreciate it if anyone has some experience or knowledge of -
Why the case might be transferred?
How long does it take to get transferred?
Will (or should) the case be processed according to original receipt date or the date received at the new center?

Thanks so much and best of luck to all.

Topic: Priority Date current since I485 filed, still forced to renew EAD/AP

EB3 - ROW - NSC
PD 05/2003 current since March 2008.
RD 7/2/2007
ND 9/6/2007

My priority date has been current since March and I am now eligible to renew my EAD, also need to renew my H1-B for 3 years since I-140 has been approved and H1-b is expiring in 3 months.

But the EAD is $340 and H1-b is at least 1500 including lawyer's fees. The H1-b lawyer told me to call NSC as one of his other clients who was also current did that and then got his GC soon afterwards. I tried calling NSC last week and the CS rep said call again in 3 weeks as I'm not 30 days past their processing time (they're processing 7/14/07). I know no one can predict what will happen, but I'm wondering if it is worth it to try to EAD renewal - for $340 and what the chances are that will trigger them to look at my case?

The only reason I'm hesitant is that if that doesn't work, I still have to do the 1500 for h1-b renewal. I know there are much more important things I need to be spending my money on but then again, if this gets me the gc, then it should be worth it right?

So basic question, better to
1. wait,
2. apply for EAD renewal,
3. H1-b renewal,
4. apply for renewal of both,
5. Or call NSC and recite my woes in iambic pentameter?

And 10 bucks to the one who give me the right answer ;) j/k.
Thanks for listening.

Alhumdulillah a million times. God is great! Finally after 15 months and an extensive RFE I got my I-140 approval. God please make it easy for us all and congratulations and best of luck to all...... final stage inshahallah.

Topic: I 140 Feb 07 and March 07 (LUDs - approval tracker)

yeah, I got a similar rfe as well, even though I submitted multiple professional certifications in my field with my application and trained 7 american coworkers and and a whole bunch of other consultants in the technology. They have all left the company and left me working on 4 projects independantly, and the RFE says prove that "he" has skills in xxx. I'm a she! Yeesh, if you don't want to read the file, why send an RFE, just approve it. Why would a company continue to employ me for 7 years, file for h1-b extension for the 10th year, and keep paying me if "he" didn't have skills in xxx.
Plus we bust our chops to reply to the RFE immediately, and they haven't touched it since they got the case three weeks ago!!!! Deep sigh. We are all working so hard for our companies and our families and for the US economy. Come on guys work hard for us too !!!
