Topic: Is it possible to get Security Clearance? H1B-EAD

Absolutely and completely not. The company you're speaking to should know better, be afraid that they do not. No US Citizenship, no security clearance, period.

Topic: november 2009 predictions..

In my way too copious spare time, I ran some numbers. Based on an additional 1/12 of the total annual visa numbers being allocated (3337 for EB3 as a whole, max of 234 per country) and the data provided, here's my predictions. If these are right, maybe the USCIS is actually going to be predictable (unlikely):

EB3
ROW March 2003
China December 2002
India August 2001
Mexico November 2002
Philippines December 2002

Topic: EB3 I PD AUG 2004- Any guess

I ran some numbers based on the USCIS report. Assuming EB3-I gets its maximum 2802 visas this year (7% of EB3) and they're being allocated 234 more per month for the remaining 11 months, India should be at March 2002 by the end of the year. Good luck!

Topic: Simple truth about GC. STOP WORRYING AND WAITING !!!

Just because it doesn't mean anything to you, doesn't mean the same for all of us. Simple examples from my recent job search:
1- I was unable to accept several different opportunities due to a lack of green card or citizenship. Not being able to access ITAR material or get a security clearance was a huge limiting factor.
2- AC21 is NOT the same as having a green card. Just look at the number of people who are getting NOIDs despite AC21.
3- I am required to be constantly employed. Want to take a month or two off between jobs to travel? Nope. Out of status is not the same as being unemployed under a green card.
4- No unemployment benefits.

So yeah, if you have a job you never ever plan to change, don't mind shelling out constant fees to renew various applications, and living in constant fear of losing your job and getting deported, sure. Life is grand.

Topic: Very Urgent!!!!!

Best to send everything they request, in case you get delayed due to RFE. I got a fingerprint request and they also took pics there, but they approved my AP the day before the actual appointment...

Topic: Effect of applying for foreign citizenship on green card application?

Yup, being part of the commonwealth does help :)

I can't even seem to find a form to notify uscis if I were to get another passport, and I'm pretty sure that would be a big deal to them.

Topic: Effect of applying for foreign citizenship on green card application?

I've found out that I'm eligible to acquire British citizenship, even though I don't live there, and I'm thinking having an EU passport would be a good fallback if the current situation continues to go badly.

Anyone know what the effect of applying for foreign citizenship would be on my application?

And just in case anyone thought the immigration situation here was normal, in England, you can get CITIZENSHIP after living there legally for 5 years.

I'm waiting to see legislation saying that H1B's can't live in states receiving stimulus... We use the roads, public transit after all...

It does, I believe. However I assume my application was probably sitting on a shelf somewhere until fingerprinting.

I'm guessing that they're going to start RFEing people for proof of employment prior to approval.

Topic: E-filing vs Paper

It took me a month to get a FP appointment. I assume that's a month that could have been spent approving my application. Not to mention that it's a serious pain to have to go through it.

That's not job discrimination. That's the meaning of an H1B. All other things being equal, H1Bs should get laid off first.

I got both approved Jan 16, got my EAD Wednesday, AP today.

Note that CPO is not the same as mailed, I got a separate LUD telling me that my EAD had been mailed a couple of days later.
