Topic: 180 torturous days... HELP!!!

Hello all!

I wanted to post my current situation and see if anyone can shed some light and help us have a clearer picture.

My wife is the main petitioner, and we are in our 176th day after submitting our I-485 (we mailed it on 08/14/07, got there the next day, RD is 10/09/07). EAD was approved and mailed on November, the Travel Document was approved 7 days ago (CRIS notification) and should get to my mailbox any day now. Our PD is 09/26/05 (Labor Cert/PERM filing). You can also see the details in my profile.

Now, here's the situation. My wife is just exhausted and EXTREMELY frustrated with her employer; I don't want to bother you with the details, but it is truly an unbearable situation. These are the options we're considering:

1.- She waits a couple of more weeks and quit, take a break, and look for another job, maybe in the same field or maybe not.
2.- She looks for another job and quits when she finds another one.

Our questions:

1.- Can she just quit after 180 days? The 180 days thing is quite confusing...
2.- Quitting after the 180 days will affect the approval of the I-485 in any way, in any of the 2 scenarios above?
3.- What should we do?

We can't go to our lawyer with these questions as the lawyer claims his client is my wife's employer, even though we're the ones paying the lawyer's bills, and we don't want to create an uncomfortable situation.

I would greatly appreciate your thoughts and insight!

Thanks and God bless.

Topic: Any Aug 16 filers

Salman, 90 days are from RD, not ND. Give it another day and try again. It worked for me, should work for you as well.

Best of luck!

Topic: Any Aug 16 filers

Hi Salman,

Although I'm not an August 16th filer, I did submit my docs on Aug. 14th.

No LUDs until my FP appointment (11/15), when I got a LUD of 11/15 and then another one on 11/16. This is for my I-485.

I decided to call USCIS Customer Service this morning to enquire about my EAD taking over 90 days. A VERY sweet and polite lady toof my case and sent a service request to NSC... I got a hard LUD about 15 minutes ago saying my card was ordered for production.

I strongly suggest you call USCIS and tell the to place a service request to see about you I-765.

Good luck!

Topic: Soft LUDs... Can someone shed a light?

Thanks lrindy!

I tried making an Infopass appointment yesterday, but there are none available in my area (Miami).

I guess I'll have to wait...

Topic: Soft LUDs... Can someone shed a light?

Hi everyone!

This is my case:
I-485 RD 08/15/2007
I-485 ND 09/10/2007
FP taken on 11/15
First soft LUD on 11/15
Second soft LUD on 11/16

Is this normal? Two soft LUDs in 2 days?

I also filed I-765 at the same time (same RD and ND dates) and more than 90 days have passed, but no LUD (soft or hard) has been done.

Can you give me some information, educated guess, etc.?

I would appreciate some help on this.
