Topic: Travelling to Hawaii

haha - no, i meant they are like any other (state) of the fifty states...

:P

although they also don't ask for any additional documents to territories like Puerto Rico, etc. (in my experience - traveled there 3 times)

Topic: Travelling to Hawaii

Hawaii is not just a US territory - it's a US State, just like any other of the fifty states. Going to Hawaii is no different than going to New Jersey from New York.

In theory, your reasoning makes sense.

In actuality, the dates aren't moving...

Topic: January Visa Bulletin - ROW

They have ask me and my wife to redo our medicals we did last time in July 07, lets see what else they ask for.
I guess lot of folks have to redo the medicals if it is more then 2 years old and since medical form I-693 has been changed this year. Not to mention yet an other change coming up for medicals from JAN 2010 where no testing for AIDS would be required as OooooooBAAMAAA opened the doors for HIV + people to enter or to adjust status.

they asked you even though you're not current? when?

Topic: January Visa Bulletin - ROW

damn immi system. I was hoping to get greened by now. The way EB3 ROW was flying and at times even hit up to may 2006... who would have thought that we would be in this situation. But that is how efficiently this system works. Ironically i would think that this is one reason why more qualified people are needed.

Me too... Crossing my fingers and toes for 2010...

Quick question - if we do become current at some point, do they just approve the application, or do we have to redo our medical / fingerprints or go to an interview...?

Topic: US Visa usage 2009

They issued 215,349 family based visas. That leaves (226000 - 215,349 ) 10651 extra for employment based visas in addition to 140000 this year.

http://www.travel.state.gov/pdf/FY09AnnualRepor...

Is there year-to-year spillover from family to employment-based? I wasn't aware of that...
The additional 10K could make a difference in some categories... But not sure that this spill over does happen.

Topic: SLUD on Approved EAD/AP

I just received (date 11/27/09) two soft LUDs on my approved EAD and AP applications. My documents for both were mailed in August 2009, so I wonder why now I have LUDs over three months after...

I have a similar case to yours - EB3 PD 7/22/05, Spain, fingerprints also done on 10/1/07...

I'm hoping to get approved by the summer. I think it's possible that we'll get approved by the spring (April-May), and hopefully before the end of Sept 2010... I don't know, maybe it's wishful thinking...

i like it - it gives people a good idea of how things should go if they went as planned.

thanks for putting that together.

i wonder how they will release visa numbers, though... will it be monthly or quarterly? Big unknowns...
