Topic: Non-accompanying dependent changed to Accompanying

I thought I'd let everyone know. I have started a thread a week ago regarding my daughter, who initially was non-accompanying in the initial application and now decided to accompany us after we received our passports with PR visa stamps. I am happy to let everyone know that after I have queried my visa office, they have replied and said it's possible. My Visa office in Sydney Australia is willing to give my daughter PR visa as well, we only have to return back my passport, my wife's passport and my daughter's, pay replacement fees (CAD30) for re-stamping of our visas (mine and wife's) and pay my daughter's processing fee (CAD150) as well. We are happy that this is possible.

Thanks for your replies guys. That's sad to know. We should've foreseen this earlier but anyways, I have sent a message to my local visa office as well and see what they will say about this. I am still waiting for a reply from them. Cheers!

Topic: Pls help regarding IELTS exam

You won't be exempted unless your primary and secondary educations were achieved in a country where English is the native language. Looking at how you've constructed your sentences in this post, it already shows that your English is not proficient enough. "Does I require" should've been written as "Do I require" and the whole sentence should've been written correctly as "Do I require doing IELTS" or "Am I required to do IELTS". My comment here is not intended to degrade you but targeted to you as a constructive criticism. English is my second language too so most of us here are in the same boat. Good Luck!

Topic: Non-Accompanying Dependant, now changed to Accompanying.!!

I have a 20 year old daughter, single, still dependant, who wasn't initially willing to move with us to Canada. As per requirement in the application,I've written a statutory declaration stating that she will not accompany us during our move to Canada, but will at a later stage as she is still attending college in my country of origin (her preference). CIC has required us for our daughter to submit Police clearances and do a Medical even if she's not coming with us inorder for her to be able to follow us to Canada later on. We didn't pay CAD150 for her in our initial application to Nova Scotia. Now,after receiving our passports with our PR stamps, she is now willing to go with us!!(Kids!). As she has done everything as we did to comply to the requirements, how do we go about getting a PR visa for her?Do we pay the CAD150 to our chosen visa office??

Topic: Do I need to send old passport with current passport ?

I guess it's a case to case basis. In our case, we had to submit the new ones as well as the old ones as they have expired whilst our PR application is being processed.

Topic: PPR Received 14 December 2009, 7 mos after lodging application

LOL,nah I'd rather return the letter to my visa processing office. You better do it that way, send the letter back to them and slap that to their face!(LOL). My Visa processing office is in Sydney Australia, so it's far from yours,am afraid! Just amazed that with our unique surnames and file numbers, they still make mistakes in sending PPR's!

Yes,one of my dependants did it in a different country. Medicals were sent to the same visa processing office.

Topic: 2009 -Meds Sent, Waiting for PPR cases?

That's a sad story to hear but always remember that one size doesn't fit all. It doesn't apply to everyone. I heard also success strories and lots of them.

Topic: Who's done processing in Sydney,NSW, AUSTRALIA?

That's the problem, there's no way you can trace that unless you contact CIC and ask if they've received it or not. Normally,it takes a month for them to reply.

Topic: FSW Applicants from the PHILIPPINES

Glad I didn't lodge my application in the Philippines. I have a working permit in Australia so I was allowed to lodge visa application to Sydney, New South Wales. I have just received Passport request letter for myself and my family for PR visa stamping after lodging initial application to Nova Scotia 7mos ago (April 2009). Happy to be in the final stage of this application.

Topic: PPR Received 14 December 2009, 7 mos after lodging application

Glad to receive the correct PPR letter yesterday Dec 12,2009 after merely 7mos of lodging initial application to Nova Scotia. It was funny when my visa office initially sent me a letter last week for a different person (wrong name, wrong file number!), got a shock so emailed them straightaway and sent them back the wrongly sent letter. Their office apologized and emailed me the correct letter yesterday. My wife is still having her passport being renewed so we'll send them all passports in 3-4 weeks once we received her new passport. We are given 60 days to do this anyway. Happy to be in the final stage of this application!

Topic: How do you talk or contact the CIO Sydney?

Matey, Visa Office in Sydney won't be able to help you until your file from CIC NS has yet been transferred to them.

Topic: Who's done processing in Sydney,NSW, AUSTRALIA?

You got it wrong matey. We've lodged our application back in mid April 2009 and received a reply dated 30 April 2009 from CIC. We were given 120 days to collect docs and lodge application to Visa Office Sydney NSW. I was not too keen initially to pursue this application so was too slow and only lodged application to Sydney NSW late July 2009. We received a reply dated 30 August 2009 from Visa Office Sydney requesting us to do medicals and produce police clearances in 90 days. Again I was too slow with the medicals and PCC's so we just started them 01 October 2009 and finally done them 14 October 2009. I applied under NOC 3112- General Practitioners.

Hi matey, we have already done our medicals a month ago, and applied for PCC's at the same time, hoping they have already received all these docs. CIC in NS has done pre-assessment in 15 days only in our case. Canadian Consulate in Sydney NSW did their own assessment for our PR eligibility in 1 month and requested medicals/PCC's at the same time. We are hoping our application get finalized in the next 6-8 weeks.
