Topic: Obama EO: EAD for approved I 140

The idea "EAD, AOS for approved I140 holders" in the ideascale website of USCIS got changed to "completed".

http://uscisconnect.ideascale.com/a/dtd/EAD-AOS...

Should we expect any good news since the RIN is up for review this month? The status changed today.

Just curious - How would this bill help us? I assume this is about limitation on issuance of green cards.

Currently there is a limitation based on country but if they eliminate it, all of us would be in the same boat and definitely indian being severely backlogged will move ahead and will recapture the unused visas of other countries.

Dear Friends,

We are delighted to share with you that Representative Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) yesterday introduced the bill H.R. 213, to eliminate the per-country numerical limitation for employment-based immigrants. This bill has bipartisan support with Representative Zoe Lofgren and Representative Raúl Labrador as original co-sponsors.

A lot many of us have toiled together for years to advocate for elimination of per country limits. This year, the chances of this happening are far greater than any time in the past. We had anticipated introduction of this bill and thus have planned for advocacy event (http://joinus.immigrationvoice.org) in Washington to petition Congress to quickly pass this bill.

I am reaching out today with a personal request for your contribution. We are running low on funds. For the February advocacy event and for the advocacy effort that will follow we need your support to see this bill through.

You have invested in this community effort before. We have together witnessed President's Executive Action on Immigration cleaning up the system and announcing fixes that we have advocated for years. Now we have another opportunity for a win in Congress. We need you to please step-up and do your shares, as you have done in the past.

As the goodwill gesture for the beginning of 2015, I ask you to please consider visiting http://donations.immigrationvoice.org and contribute $100 today so we can continue the good fight.

Thank you,
Aman Kapoor
