Same here, this whole process is so frustrating! The customer care is unable to help since they see the same thing as us - "no appointments available". What is the purpose of asking us to keep checking if repeated checking ends up blocking us from own profile!

I think the next appointment date is displayed on the left hand side right below the list of options, at the time when you're on the payment page. I don't remember exactly if that is displayed before or after making the payment, but a date does show in red.

I think the 20-50 open slots you're seeing are finger printing appointments. I have been trying as well for July and it just shows as "no appointments available".

Topic: US Consulate Visa Appointment Availability - INDIA

Well I booked an appointment for July 29 a week back. But i'm looking to see if something opens up sooner :( For me, within 3 days I saw the date jump from July 12 to July 13 and then straightaway to July 29! I'm so frustrated! We have a wedding to attend early June and the interview is not until the end of the month. We are not sure if our employers will give us 4 weeks of vacation :(

bump

Would really like to hear about others' experience with this or using automatic visa revalidation (AVR). Specially if the travel using AVR has delayed EAD approval?

Topic: Unaccompanying spouse at Canada landing

Hi,

My husband is getting ready for Canada landing, but I will not be able to accompany him (we have our CoPR approved; my husband is the principal applicant). Who do we need to inform in this case? We are currently in US and I'm waiting for my H4 EAD (filed concurrently) and hence unable to make the trip to Canada. We are thinking of applying for my PR again when we do move to Canada permanently.

Thank you in advance for the help.

Topic: F1 to H4 EAD

I sent my application to VSC. Yes, USCIS H4 EAD FAQs clearly state that they can take an additional 3 months after approving H4, to approve EAD application. But, I have seen people here getting their EADs sooner than 3 months. Who knows how USCIS works?!

Best of luck!

Topic: F1 to H4 EAD

I applied for COS to H4 from F1 along with EAD in June this year (June 3rd as received date for both applications) and received my H4 COS approval on October 28th. I stopped working as soon as I received my H4 approval. I had received a text and email late night and I stopped working from the next day. I had kept my employer informed throughout the process so they were aware and were open to unpaid leave till I waited for my work permit. I'm now waiting for my EAD approval.

Hope this helps.

Topic: H4 COS received, leave country while EAD application is pendin

Hi, I received my H4 COS recently and have been waiting to receive approval on EAD application as well. I had filed both applications concurrently. I would like to hear about others' recent experiences on leaving the country with an approved H4 COS and EAD pending. Specifically, if leaving the country for H4 stamping has delayed the EAD application?

Thank you for your help in advance.

Topic: COS H1 to H4 (when can I stop working?)

I was on F1.So - as soon as you have a notification of the H4 approval, you need to stop working. You should not wait until you have the hard copy of the approval notice in hand. In my case, I received a text and an email notification of my COS approval late in the evening and I stopped working from the next day. This was actually also verified by the approval notice (hard copy) I received today - it had the approval date of 10/28 - the day I received the text and email notification. Hope this helps. (please note that this advice is just based on my personal experience, I'm not a lawyer.)
