Topic: notifying HR

what would happen if you don't notify your HR of your greencard status or notifying them a bit later than sooner?

my RFE for the extension is for the visa screen, which my lawyer failed to send the current one (they sent the expired one). hopefully we'll get an update on it this week as my lawyer replied to it last week.

Topic: A request to all Indian H1-B "specialty workers"

the thing with IT industry that makes it vulnerable to fraud (and subsequently to foreign nationals that know the ins and outs of the immigration system) is that the industry does not have a regulatory function in place. not like in the healthcare and education industries where you go through US boards and certifications to be even considered at par with a US counterpart. in my profession in particular, your school's curriculum has to be certified as at par with global standards before the US boards will even qualify you for the exams. hence foreign nationals in IT can get away with some masters in some college/university in their own countries even though there is no system in place to certify as those education being at par with US education, much less with the degree itself being the required degree for the job.

now i can understand why a lot of foreign nationals in the IT industry tend to get a lot of audits and/or RFEs for their educational qualifications and degrees that they acquired outside of US once the GC applications are launched. and they complain why USCIS is so blah blah blah with audits and RFEs for such? why is the US so "cruel" to them that backlogs have not been cleared for so long? as someone has said before, the demand for GCs is overwhelming the supply--all because the IT industry has been saturated for so long with fraudsters due to the absence of a regulatory function in the industry itself.

and i know the original post is 5 years old, but it's still pertinent today, with the continued backlogs. and then someone would challenge "are you sure there are no frauds in the healthcare industry?" sure there are, but do you think the healthcare professionals would dare getting license revocation or even imprisonment in the event that they make a clinical mistake that harmed their client--just because their qualifications were fraudulent?

Because you are baby! there were answers to your post before I even posted my comments. what appalled me was your blanket comment,
"and the most of the ones clamoring for EAD for h4 are from the very countries that are targeted in that guardian article. i can only imagine the bulk of people getting h4 EADs. but if the US govt decides on this on your favor, more power to you, but i won't be optimistic of the USA's future with more immigrants from those countries", as if you aren't an immigrant yourself. Who are you to judge people from other countries as if you don't come from a very corrupt third world country. You are no better than any other immigrant whether documented or undocumented. So please stop posting in this forum.

well, that's the point of discussing the questionable point of this cause. i am applying to be a LPR myself, no doubt about that, but i also want to be an eventual US citizen myself. hence, if there's something i can do to protect US citizens at this point of my immigration status, then when i get to be a US citizen, i would be protected as well. i won't deny, i won't be optimistic of US future with more immigrants from that targeted country but did i resort to threats/low blows/stalking/name calling?

You should worry more on American citizens losing their life under your care than them losing their jobs. How do you explain Asian nurses getting here in the US and given GC but get convicted of abusing their patients and sometimes murdering them.
So whatever argument you have against "irregularities" that you attribute to people who are just asking for a choice to work or stay at home goes back to you. So please stop the hypocrisy okay.

ah there goes the threat again. so calm and professional for someone who wants to be an eventual US citizen and yet calls a member a hypocrite and a bigot for trying to espouse ideas that protect US citizens. yeah, because all third-world healthcare professionals are shady at best. tell that to all foreign-national nurses.

look zilam98! you shouldn't be threatened because we don't compete with nurses. its a noble shitty job! your degree doesn't even qualify for H1B and is a cheap commodity nowadays. you should be angry at American nurses because they will take your job baby! and you'll be reduced to wiping asses of old people paid by the hour. your anger at H4s is misplaced. H4s are dependents of people who hold the "Genius Visa"(H1B). we have much more to offer to this country that is why the H1B cap will be expanded. this country doesn't need any more nurses from third world countries who got their degrees from fly by night schools in Asia. You accuse Indian body shops of irregularities yet you forget the diploma mills cropping up in every corner of your country producing nurses of sub par abilities to send to the US and Europe. I respectfully advise you to stop posting in this forum any further.

?

Hahaha! Let me get this right. You are posting here in behalf of the American citizens? My question is whats in it for you? People have answered your arguments calmly and professionally yet you cant help but show your bigotry and hypocrisy. Even POTUS, the Labor Secretary, and the former head of DHS acknowledge that legal immigration needs an overhaul. Who are you to argue with these people.
Nurses are just like any other profession. Its those people like you who give it a bad name. I thought nurses were compassionate people but you, your different. You take what little knowledge you have and fuel it with hypocrisy and bigotry and lash out at other people just wanting to have a choice here in the US.
Please stop posting in this forum.

is posting online profile (and looking for other online activity) professional? and calling a member "crabby" and describing them as lucky miserable jerk calm and professional? oh wow...is that how it is in the professional world? stalking and name calling? why not try bringing forth arguments that will solidify your claim for EADs for h4 that will hold up not just with politicians and lobbyists, but with US citizens themselves. call me hypocrite and a bigot, but arent you aiming to be US citizen yourself eventually? if not, then why be here in the US to get on to that path?

Admins, should have removed this guy zilam98 (294) long back. We don't wana hear negativity spreading person like him anymore. For the sake of H4 ead , zilam98 (294) please get out of this H4 EAD supporting threads.

it's not as if i'm spamming anything or talking dastardly things here. i'm just trying to bring out arguments in what i see as something questionable in this situation, and all you guys do are threats, low blows, calls for banning, ONLINE STALKING? are these what geniuses on GC path do? hey, what's a forum for anyway? isn't it to call forth discussions, including things that might be questionable?

if you guys here are really talented/geniuses/high-brow professionals, i would've expected legit discussions and not threats, low blows, stalking

OMG!!!
Guys to hell with this zilam person...the best way to shut someone is to just ignore them rather than give them an opportunity to comment back....
As some one else said everyone has an opinion and i surely dont agree with zilam but there is no point in arguing with her, only people who have been through this misery will know the true extend of suffering that we all face....
lets just keep our focus to one thing which is ead for H4 and once the rule does come into action it will shut the mouths of many ignorant people......

hey, if you guys get your EADs, more power to you. if i'm ignorant, then just consider the side of the US citizens whom the h4 holders will be competing with (with no restrictions at that) for jobs.

I am not attacking you or saying that you nursing is not respectable.
It's just that there are more talented people on H4. Some even more talented than you and me.

It seems unfair to have them sitting at home.

like i said, if they're that talented, why don't they apply through O1 if not H1 or L1?

im not denying the skills of those people, but if they are really confident of their qualifications and are certainly talented, then why not try O1? you guys here only keep using not being able to apply through H1 route.

People in this forum already responded to your questions, I do not want to wast my time in explaining it to you. the techsploitation artilce is nothing to do with h4 EAD... I really do not know why are you brining that into this conversation.

well, just googled it, people from your country engaged in some sort of fraud, i am sure you must be one among them...

Filipino RN"s training in the Philippines is a joke, Compared to the training required by American nurses and European countries most of those schools in the Philippines are just crash course's completed in a !/4 of the time and the requirements are almost none existent most are basically diploma mills specifically geared toward Filipino women trying ti immigrate to the United States

Now we know about your qualiication.

If you are worried about the US job market, how can't you pack your bag and go back to your native country....

Mama marry bless you.....

and so? do you think those products of diploma mills can just breeze through US levels of healthcare credentialling (TOEFL, NCLEX, CGFNS, etc)? do you think it's easy to get a job in any healthcare profession in the US with just bribery and fake degrees? the boards certainly winnow out the so-called diploma-mill graduates.

and how paradoxical of you. resorting to threats and calling on mama mary? wow...such spirituality...

why should i be threatened? i'm more concerned for the US citizens with whom the h4 holders will be competing jobs for. we're the ones that chose to be here. the US citizens certainly didnt hold us hostage to do jobs for them. we came here at will, didnt we?

oh and tell any nurse here in the US, foreign or US citizen, what you just said. I DARE YOU TO! if you're that brave to bully medical professionals here just because of your online anonymity, well show off your credentials and tell nurses what you just said here.

stop posting in this forum? and why? just because you can't come up with arguments that will really convince US citizens the legitimacy of EAD for H4 holders?

zilam you are only a nurse... respectable but I have years of experience + BSc + MBA

tell that to all foreign-trained nurses...heck even the US citizen ones. oh hey! you're just a nurse! you dont have a voice! you're not supposed to argue with a foreign national who has years of experience + BSc + MBA. you're a useless worker. that foreign national who has those credentials certainly doesnt need any medical care, or nursing help for that matter. oh shut up! you're just a nurse! tell that to all foreign-trained nurses please.

Please shut up if you cannot see both sides of the coin.

you havent even brought respectable, INTELLIGENT arguments to the table, so you just resort to stalking, threats, showing off of credentials, low blows, etc. bring some legit arguments that US citizens themselves can understand the reasoning for EAD for h4 holders. that way, we can see the extent of your years of experience + BSc + MBA. do you think an average US citizen looking for a job and with whom h4 holders will be competing for jobs will just look at your credentials and immediately understand your plight?

a comment from that techsploitation article:

"It is only getting worse, as Indians come with a nationalist alliance. This means they speak Hindi to each other in the office, and band together to undermine American resources. Americans are not allowed to operate with this latent tribalism in our culture. Plus, with Indian managers, we are now getting the same threats and similar abuse from the Indian IT managers."

"threats" and red flagging (and researching someone's online trail--doesnt that tantamount to STALKING?)...sounds familiar, and especially when it seems to be associated with the foreign nationals mentioned in that article...

Topic: "Techsploitation" and body shops article in the Guardian

I am not in any way trying to light a fire here but I feel that the reason Indian names are mentioned is because Indians are far and away the most impacted by body shops, and most of those body shops are run by indians. There may be other developing nation workers impacted also, but to my knowledge in several years of having been active in this forum, I never heard of a developed nation immigrant ever signing a contract of this nature. With good reason. Their own countries offer sufficient opportunities and a standard of living that low paying IT jobs would be a step down for most of them - not a 5 time increase in pay.

Anyway, the reason I highlighted the article is because it is discussed here often (or was in the past anyway) and it clearly brings some actual facts to the discussion rather than here say and anecdote.

discussion of what? discussion of indians' slavery in the US? oh yes, that's how all of you want it portrayed when all it's about is the mass manipulation of US tech labor by indians and indian employees subscribing to it however which way they can because they have "no choice". if an employee agrees to it, then why should it be portrayed as slavery?
