Topic: Contract-to-hire jobs in this economy
Please post your opinions.
Off late due to the slowing economy, I am seeing a lot of contract-to-hire positions which are usually of 3/6 months period. What are the pitfalls to look for in a contract-to-hire position considering the current economic situation? Few years back it was certain that employers offer the full-time position at the end of the contract-to-hire term(unless performance didn't meet their expectation), but now that things are different, are employers abusing the contract-to-hire per se to lure people who otherwise won't come thru if it was plain contract? |
Topic: How much did you guys lose in the recent stock market turmoil
Hello evrebody,
How we can stop loosing money what we have in 401k, I already loose money $535.24 in my 401k.
Its probably little late now. You can move your money to a cash option and later when the market dips further and stabilizes move money back to funds which might be lower to buy then. My 2 cents. |
Topic: VFS-USA question
I recently did my 9th year stamping and did not find any issues other than waiting for half hour outside the consulate(went little earlier). And I actually answered 'Yes' for that question. My interpretation was that I am extending my H1 visa. I have received my GC subsequently after returning back on the new H1. |
Topic: Lou Dobbs talked about visa recapture bill in his show tonight--guess what? He is a moron.
Lou Dobbs sure seems to look angrier day by day with government bureaucracy...he sees himself as the torch bearer...but he must get the facts straight and correct...and the transcript sure is one good example that he gets carried away with the situation and cannot distinguish between legal and illegal immigration.... |
Topic: Complex I-485 RFE situation
My suggestion is that you get the marriage certificate by travelling to India ASAP. Expedite and use all your resources and get that certificate. Do it now itself; you won't do it otherwise and who knows you might need it for something else soon. Affidavits usually are preferred than recently obtained certificates, but in your case they are certain that they want the certificate only. Do whatever you can and get the certificate instead of exploring other round about options you're considering. |
Topic: may 2004 case waiting.
I certainly agree that we are seeing more of 2005/2006 cases getting approved. Mine is Jan 2004 EB2 and was approved last week from NSC. So, I'm thinking all of your's may be just around the corner or will be approved before end of this year. Just hang in there... |
Topic: How to find out if I am EB2 or EB3?
That's true. Through I140 your employer has to demonstrate their financial standing for your employment and hence its their petition on your behalf. I got the same answer when I asked for a copy myself and they are very religious about not giving that to you. If you are on H1 and beyond six years, try asking your employer for all existing GC documents on the pretext of applying for H1 stamping on a upcoming international travel. You know what I mean....find some other way to get it. |
Topic: Shitty treatment by NSC IO
I really sympathize with your situation and I can very well understand it too. GC process is all about who seems to be more luckier than the other. So just wait till you get lucky. Some IO's are really helpful and some are not. If at all you call, try calling them early in the morning. The truth is there are many people who just call USCIS due to impatience and people who really need help do not get the help when needed. People have to use rationale in calling USCIS. Hope everything goes well for you. |
