No, I didn't call on the 5th day. I didn't receive any call or email in between either. I received an email notification from USCIS around noon on the 5th day saying that my card is in production. I called them on the 6th day to ask how long it would take to get the actual card but no more information was able to provide by the USCIS lady. She said no more information beyond that point. I should get my card within 30 days according to her. Good luck on yours!!! |

Hi! I called USCIS to expedite my EAD case last week and got my card production ordered this week (on the last 5th day since I called)! It works. :) I am now waiting for the card to arrive. Thanks for all the wisdom I received from this forum. Love it! |

Congrats in getting your EAD in short time!
I am in the same boat as you were months ago. I sent in my EAD form on Dec 10 (received date), did my FP on Dec 20 and called USCIS to expedite my EAD case two days ago. I went through the same questions as you listed above (i.e. financial loss/emergency situation). Told him that I have a job offer on hand and needing this job to alleviate my financial burden. Not sure this will help me to expedite the case or not. :) Wondering whether any IO from USCIS called you within 5 days after you made the call or not? I was told over the phone that they might call me / or email to check on my 'proof'. Any insight is helpful! thanks duffy! |

Topic: Separate Fingerprint/Bio for I-485 and I-765?
Hi pkINfl,
I was called in for 2 FP in Dec 2008! So it is very possible. The only reason is because my I765 was rejected the first round (filed together with I485,765,130 and 131) due to using old form. So my first FP was only I485. The second one came in 15 days later for I765. Usually they will do 485 and 765 together at one time. Hope this helps! |

Topic: Can travel abroad while 130/485 pending?
Hi Nanush27, yes, you can travel outside of the US while your AOS is pending... I submitted my AOS application on Nov 5th and traveled out of the US on Nov 12th. I didn't receive any receipt notice at that time and had no problem entering US using my valid H1B visa. The IO only looked at my H1B visa. As long as you have a valid H1B, should be no problem to travel.

Topic: Mail Hold Service while waiting for FP notice

I am in valid H1B status and going to have to travel out of the country next week. I submitted my AOS package and waiting for a FP notice anytime now. I am wondering if I put a Mail Hold Service through US Post Office, will my FP notice be kept at the post office while I travel or the FP notice will be sent back to USCIS. Please advise!

I am facing 'send now' or 'send later' dilemma! I married a USC in September and getting ready to send my I485/I130/I765 and I131 out. I am currently holding a valid H1B visa (with valid stamp). I am going out of the country for my brother's wedding in Malaysia on November 13th and come back to the US on November 29th. I also got an offer (verbal offer) from a company who wants me to start workign as soon as possible. My question is shall I turn in my AOS package now? or wait till I come back from Malaysia at the end of November? In this financial uncertainty time, I am anxious to get a better paying job soon but don't want to jeorpadize my application status. Can anyone who had the similar experience advise me on the best practice? Thanks so much.

Hi Trackitt members!
I am in the process of applying for AOS-I485, I130, I131, & I765 by marrying a USC. I am current under H1B.
I noticed that on the form I485 and I765, both of them has 'expiration date'. I485 is expired on 9/30/2008 while I765 is on 8/31/2008. Up to today (10/18), those two forms' still the same (no updated form) on the USCIS form website. Shall I go ahead and file my application with those two versions? Any advise is appreciated. Thanks so much.
