Thanks klein,
I am not worried for the visa. Because I never hide anything. I can, and will go to court if needed, because the person who applied was not me. It was a puzzle to me as to why my BC is taking so long. So first when I got a call, i was relieved to at least know what was the reason for a long BC. But after thinking, i thought, oh .... it’s so scary.
I wanted to share it with the forums to let people know quite unique reason for long BC’s, and also wanted to get more info about protecting myself better. Thanks to CHC that they called and let me know about it.

Thanks. I am going to collect my passport in abt 8-9 days, so will see what has been done to it. But what really worries me is my identity. Its not difficult (in court etc...) for me to prove that the person who applied was not me. and actually the CHC should also know. They must have the records, photos, details of the person who applied. But I will always be worried about identity theft etc....
I brought it into the forum to let people know that the BC checks take longer for some due to many factors,. but this one looks unique.......
Anyway best of luck to you as well. I should collect my passport next week and will see which way it goes. I will drag it into a court, as I will not sit down quietly.

Dear All,
No one commented on this. So I will change the questions.
Has anyone seen or heard anything like this? If I did not apply....(which I never did...........), then who did it?
It is so scary..... Knowing there is someone in this world, who has the same name and D.O.B as you.
OR
he stole my identity and applied. Then the question arises as why would someone steal the identity of a student?
I am really scared......yesterday, I was relieved to know the reason of my long BC .but today, The more I think about it, the more it make me worried. I am thinking about taking legal advice. If someone could give me a direction. I will be thankful...

Dear All,

I got my PPR last week and submitted my Passport on the 18th June after long BC as I sent my meds in September 2008. Got a call today from the CHC London. The lady looked very friendly and soft spoken. This was our conversation.

Q. I am calling from Canadian immigration and am about to finalize your application, but would like to ask whether you applied for immigration before?
A. No, I never ever applied for Canadian immigration before.

Q. Basically what it is, someone with same NAME and D.O.B applied in the Year 1998......... You wrote in your application that you never applied before, just wanted to check if you have done any mistake in filling out the forms.
A. No, There is no mistake in the application. I sent the application and updated information 4 times, and every time I wrote that I never applied before. And that is what it is, I never applied before.

Q. Is your name very common in your home country?
A. To be very honest, I don’t think so. In fact I have seen very few people with this name.

Q. Did you ever work in the fashion industry?
A. No, I never worked and never did anything about fashion industry. All my education and job is related to Economics.

Q. what you were doing in 1998?
A. I was in the first year of my Undergrad in the university.........

Q. Are you still doing Research and teaching job at the moment in the ................University ?
A. Yes I am...

And then she said that is what she wanted to ask................I thank her for her call and time...
So basically for the people whose BC is taking Longer, There is something, which we don’t know, and because of that it takes longer to finalize the case.
I am now waiting for my passport back and let’s see how it goes.
But at least I am relieved to know the reason as to why it took them so long to send the PPR and, even after that they called to take an interview of a kind......

please comment...

Topic: URGENT HELP NEEDED FROM SENIORS...

Thank you americandesi and canglobal.
I know that the PPR is for visa stamping, and it did not mention to send all the previous passports. But as I said, I read about 2-3 months ago here that you need to send all the previous PPs as well. Did not want to make any mistake.
Anyway, appreciate your help....

Dear All,

I am submitting my passport to CHC London tomorrow. I read somewhere that you need to submit all the previous passports along with the current one to the CHC. Is it true?
The e-mail about PPR did not mention about it....
Please comment........

Topic: Different birth date in Education certi/ Passport

Hi hasanZ,

Can you not correct the D.O.B on the education documenst? That is what I think the easiest way, if her D.O.B is incorrect on these documenst.
Obviously you will have to prove that her D.O.B is incorrect on the educational documenst.

Sfkiyani,

Congrats on getting visa. I bet you will be delighted. I am still waiting, don't know when its all gonna finish. I have ordered my CAIPS. The CHC gave me 60 days to send the travel history form. So now waiting again.......
What are your plans? Are you gonna move permanently or just do the landing? If you have permanent job and settled, will you still move permanently?
Any way wish you have a wonderful life in Canada...
Are you based in Middle East? Just wanted to ask, because I was having Telephonic interview form an employer in Gulf...

Sorry for asking too many questions...

It's free for some one in Canada. I am not in Canada and don't know any one there, so had to pay for it. If you are in Canada or know some one, then you/ they can order it free.

Did you order your CAIPS notes?
That's what I am gonna do. Maybe they are not sure about something, and that's why they are asking these stuff again and again.

Any way Best of luck....( That's what every one needs in these matters...)

Walia!

Did they ask to submit ''Immigrant summary and supplementary Information form''. I was waiting for my PPR since sep 2008, but got a letter last week (From CHC London) to submit The above mentioned form. I sent all my passport pages along with the form, because the form was asking about complete travel history.....

One thing more! You could send CHC London an e-mail. I am sure they will not reply, but at least it will make sure that your PPR is not lost in post. I wont trust royal mail with ordinary letter in a busy Christmas period.
Best of luck.

Best of luck to you as well.
Majority of cases from Pakistan around the world are taking longer after medicals. Some are waiting for PPR for >10-12 months There are of course some exceptions. I read in other forum that the speed of BC depends on many factors like country of origin, some specific Names, military services and many unknowns.
I wish and pray that you are one of the exception.

Topic: time after medicals

Hi Sfkiyani1,

Are you British citizen who applied to CHC London ?.. If not, then I think you will need to wait a bit longer.
My time line is almost identical to yours- applied Oct 2005,updated letter Feb 2008, IELTS request in may, submitted in July-- Med + RPR fee Request in Aug, Med + RPR fee reached London on 22nd September, STILL NO PPR.
What i could gather from all this is that in case of foreigners (like me from Pakistan) , The Background checks are taking longer to complete. The situation, in my case,is exacerbated by the stuff going on over there in my home country.
I do not want to be the messenger of the bad news, but be prepared for a longer wait. There is nothing one could do but wait.
I will keep you updated regarding the progress of my application.....
