Topic: Case just passed to Detroit...

My case was also transferred to Detroit, on May 20. I'm wondering the same. CAIPs says BF'D won't be until December!

Topic: Personal statement when pass mark not met

According to CIC, applicants with total scores less than 67 points who believe there are other factors that would help them become more economically established in Canada can include a letter explaining these factors with their application. If CIC is lenient and calculates my points as I see fit then I would have 68 points. However, I'm worried I won't get points for French which would bring me to only 66 points.

Has anyone had any success submitting a personal statement? What kind of documents did you include to support your claim? I've already submitted my app and received AOR..should I still submit a letter? To the CIC Case Specific Enquiry page or by mail to Buffalo? By the way, I definately have the funds required to settle, 3 Canadian relatives (aunt, uncle, great-uncle), and long-term Canadian boyfriend.

Thanks for your input.

Topic: Maximum Points without IELTS

I also received a letter requesting I take IELTS even though I supplied statements from my employer, college, and myself. I was not born in the U.S. but have lived in the U.S. for 24.5 of 26 years. Just in case they don't give me the benefit of the doubt I plan on taking the IELTS in March. Hopefully the British accents won't throw me off.
