Good luck.
However, I find the comparison of getting a GC to being free from slavery,
little bit rude. Saw many similar posts in the past - it's not just you.
You are using MLK words.
Do you really think you were a slave in America ?

I got my GC and felt independence, but I don't think that comparing this situation to someone who was a slaved and got freed is proper.

Topic: How much did you guys lose in the recent stock market turmoil

Personally, since I know I can not time the market, I didn't change anything in my 401K - all is stocks.
I have at least 25 years to go, so it's long enough for 401K stocks investments. Market goes up - great ! goes down - I buy low. Try to time it with your 401K and you will loose both time, money and health. Let it sit there, go up & down, focus on being the best on your job and create value for your clients. Don't get too involved with your 401K.

On my non-401K portfolio, I did so far about 10% unrealized gains from beginning of the year - quite disappointing.
No day trading, all very long positions.

Topic: I 485 spouse case pending

I got approved on 4/2008 and my spouse case is still pending. However, her case was also submitted about 1 month late due to attorney mistake with the check. :-(

Topic: U.S. Department of Labor auditing all permanent labor certification applications filed by major....

It doesn't say if old LCAs (non-PERM) would be audited as well.

I am not a lawyer, but isn't one (be it a person or a company) free to consult with a lawyer any time ?
It's hard to me to believe this important freedom can be prevented.

"U.S. Department of Labor auditing all permanent labor certification applications filed by major immigration law firm"

http://www.dol.gov/opa/media/press/eta/eta20080752.htm

Since it's the I-485 board - I am wondering if this also includes LCAs pertaining to pending and approved I485s ?
