Director Leon mentioned he received an email every 15 mins for last 8 months regarding H4 rule. We need to do the same for I140 EAD implementation...advocacy is the way to go to get the rules implemented..hats off to people leading us...

Topic: Dept of Labor,USCIS,ST EB based immigration-teleconf on feb 19

Here are some the questions and feedback points.

Questions:
1) What is expected timeline to grant independent work authorization for H1 candidates who applied for permanent residency and have an approved I-140?
2) Is the independent work authorization an EAD or something else?

Feedback:
1) Providing EAD's to H4 and H1 candidates with approved I-140 would reduce the number of H1B renewal/new applications.
2) Employers will have access to larger pool of experienced candidates to pick from.
3) Job satisfacation and career progression is not stalled for candidates embarking on permanent resident process.

Please suggest changes or add more questions to the list.

Though the article is from 2012, I think it is still relevant and worth mentioning

Is it possible to merge 2 petitions on petition2congress site? There is another petition with over 11k+ signatures.
http://www.petition2congress.com/7152/

If we cannot merge, We should atleast mention other petition also in emails to ORIA

Thanks

Can you provide some links to facts regarding Canada stating that they will likely deny the visa applications if the applicants have degree outside of the U.S. and Canada. I know my friends who do not have degress from US and got stamped in Canada.

Topic: 5th Year on H1-B - Please help!

Hello divaa7:

There is no point in moving to smaller company if they dont file PERM asap that would be atleast 3-4 months from his start date due to Ad posting which will take at min around 45-60 days and Prevailing wage determiantion min 4-5 weeks.

The selling point to the new company is long term association. Actually the company should already have asked about immigration status of your husband and be prepared to file his PERM once he joins.

Out of 270 approved cases for this week only 21 belong to MARCH.....I think it will be next week by the time you see MARCH PD's moving faster.

A-13057-* translates into a PD of FEB 26th and its not March 1st week.
If the approvals hit 400-450 count we can consider it as a good week due to the fact its a long weekend and many would have planned for extended vacation.

estimate look to be very optimistic , i hope your estimates come true..but if we look the JAN and FEB approvals looks like DOL took more than a month to move the PD dates by 2 weeks.
