Topic: USCIS CHANGES VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS TO ADJUST STATUS TO LEGAL PERMANENT RESIDENT

Per the current memo (issued Jan 2008), medical exam does not need to be repeated if your 485 is approved any time in the year 2008, and your medical was done not more than a year before the I-485 was submitted.

http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/I-693_extension_ja708.pdf

These memos are valid only for a year, and need to be extended every year. Whether you need to redo the medical exam will depend on when your green card is approved and whether USCIS decides to extend the memo.

Topic: Current !!! Foreign Travel.

I had asked my lawyer the same question. She said I should not travel on advance parole if my I485 is approved before I leave for my trip. Your advance parole is not valid anymore, and hence you should get the I551 stamp before you leave.

But you can use the advance parole to return if your I485 is approved while you were already abroad.

If you do get an RFE, you can always support affidavits from your wife and her parents.

You may try taking an infopass appointment at the local office

I think you are supposed to wait for 60 days after sending the response to RFE.

Topic: Finally got greened after Infopass!!!

Getting stuck in Chicago office is painful. I tried everything from Ombudsman, congresswoman, District Director to senator. Finally my case made some progress only when I got to talk to the interviewer on phone.

Topic: File stuck in Local office

OWUA,

You don't get any LUDs when your file is at the local office. For card production, the file has to be sent back to teh service center, and thats when you should start seeing LUDs.
