Hey GM, okay I do think you can keep working for your US-based company even after you get your Canadian residency...for a while. I think there's some sort of a "gotta be in Canada for 3 out of 5 years" rule to maintain residency. Check the exact numbers on that one. So if you got your Canadian residency you could still hang out and live/work in the US for a couple years. And if you get your US GC by then, you'll be done. Of course, if you get fed up of the US GC nonsense, you could always take off and go to Canada. My cousin got his Canadian residency several months ago and he's still in the US working.
Did I answer the question? :) |

Thanks for your note. Yes, I finally got the medical letter last month; sent everything in last week. The doc's office took a while to send stuff out. Had to keep calling them to check on the status. :)

Topic: transferred to LA from Buffalo
Mates,
My application was filed with Buffalo on June 30, 2006 and was transferred to Los Angeles on May 10, 2007. Any idea how long it takes for LA to process? Thanks.

Topic: how long it takes for me to get the first letter from them, i filed my application since Dec18, 2006
shouldn't the AOR (Acknowledgement of Receipt) just take a few weeks? I applied to the Buffalo office and my AOR took 3 weeks. I understand that the applicant in this post has applied elsewhere but 10-12 months sounds like a long time to get an AOR...I would think. Please clarify if you could. Thanks.

Topic: still i could not get AOR what should i do
I would call them. I don't think it should take that long to get an AOR. Call them...and let us know what happens. Good luck!
