Topic: Stamping on passport

NO, stamping is no longer done. Because there is no substantial delay between the issuance of email notices and the actual GC. Stamping will be only done in special cases or when there is a long delay between the receipt of approval notice and receipt of the actual GC. Found this out yesterday at INFOPASS.

Topic: I-551 on passport after getting GC

Do you need an INFOPass for this or can you do a walk-in.

Topic: Mailing Physical GC Abroad

here is some information from another source:

A lawful permanent resident, which is what you are now, who is returning from a temporary trip abroad must present:

A valid, unexpired immigrant visa;

A valid, unexpired Form I-551, Permanent Resident Card, if seeking readmission after a temporary absence of less than 1 year,

A valid, unexpired Form I-327, Permit to Reenter the United States; or

A valid, unexpired Form I-571, Refugee Travel Document.

As you are not in possession of any of these documents, you should report to a U.S. embassy or consulate outside the U.S. and request a Transportation Letter so that the airline will be able to board you.

Once you arrive in the U.S., the inspectors at the port-of-entry will figure out a way to handle your case. If you attempt to enter as a H1B or as a parole, you will be misrepresenting yourself to a federal officer, not a very good way to start out your permanent resident status.

The AP becomes null and void because you are no longer a parolee, but LPR. So, if you are LPR you cannot be paroled back into the United States. The LPR becomes a valid form of entry and work authorization.

Well, basically, according to the IO from INFOPASS this morning, you can re-enter the US on Advance Parole you have to use Green Card to re-enter the US after your 1-485 is approved.

Another issue to keep in mind is that ADIT processing info including in CRIS email is deceptive, if you have already done your biometrics and if it was okay, you are all set. Unless and otherwise, you get specific written instructions to do another FP, you get the GC in mail and you are set-you are LPR--that is the end of the road.

Topic: Mailing Physical GC Abroad

Folks,

Did anyone you know have had the experience of having travel before receiving the physical GC, if so did you travel, if you did how did you re-enter and, did any of you have someone open your mail box and FEDEX the GC to you abroad.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Topic: Physical Card and Card approval copies tracker

Folks,

Out of the blue, the magic email arrived few hours ago "Card Production Ordered". I am still processing this news. Whew!!! (This is it Right?)

But, to the question now, I am scheduled to leave the country on 13th Dec. I am not sure I will receive the Physical Green Card before I leave and I don't want to change my travel plans because it is too difficult and costly. What steps should I take now. Off course, I have my AP with me.

Any assistance is highly valued--Thanks

Topic: Name check delay causes

Yup, the more alphabets or more syllables your name has, the longer it takes because they break your name down into many pieces and run checks against their database. So, even a particular part of your name hits a match, then the case is flagged for further checks thereby delaying the processing.
