Topic: "Background checks"????

I see no reason why one's asked to submit Police clearances when the background checks are anyway conducted by CIC

casehalted,
My wife's doc said it should be fine to go for a chest x-ray with a shield after the 20th week.

Topic: Medical Test

PRAspirant,
My wife just completed 14 weeks and we enquired with the doctor about the possibility of having an X-ay done some time in the near future. She mentioned that it would be OK after the 20th week using a lead shield. If you plan to talk to your doctor please let me know what she/she has to say.

Topic: No Initial Assessment or Transferred to local after 27th Feb

Tangocharlie,
I have not claimed to have seen IAs for cases with AORs after 27th Feb. As I said earlier, I'm hoping to see IAs, under old rules, as and when they get issued for cases like mine with AORs after 2th Feb.

deecee, you're right.

All applications that reached CIC on or after 27th Feb are being awarded "Provisional AORs". The content of the letter goes some what this way...

“This is to advise you that your application for permanent residence has been received at the Regional Program Centre (RPC) and that a provisional file has been created for you. Your file number appears above. Please quote this number in all correspondence with our office."

I sent my application on Feb 04 and received my AOR on Apr 21. I received a regular AOR letter and not a Provisional AOR. This proves that my application will be processed according to old rules as and when it happens.

Topic: Police Clearance from Australia

Hi
I lived in Australia in the past. I currently live in the US. Does any one know the process of getting the Police certificate from Australia while living in the US? According to Australian Federal Police website, they need the amount to be paid in Australian dollars only.
