Topic: I-140 approved and I-485 more than 180 days... but Lawyer said...

Of course not!!

I did exactly what you are planning to do, never informed the USCIS of the change, because it is not mandatory, and I received my Green Card 15 days ago, I also filed the I-485 in August 2007.

If it is a good job opprotunity, and you do not have any visa risks, the go ahead, that is my opinion, but I'm certainly not a lawyer.

Good luck!

Topic: Lost Green Card

You certainly have point!!

However I would not trust a phone call, I would rather go to the office and have them tell me something face to face, or stamp my passport if possible. What do you think?

Topic: Lost Green Card

Are you sure that it was an IO who answered the phone?

My 2 cents... If your case is shown as pending, must likely it still pending, I would suggest an Infopass, so they tell you your real status live, and not by a phone call.

Topic: Filing I-485

Thank you so much!!

We are from Venezuela, and I believe that we do not have issues with priority dates, as our country does not request many visas, however I do not know if they can be affected by the category, I do not know what type it is.

Their concern is because the lawyer said that they had to wait for the I-140 approval to process de I-485, and in my case it was not that way, I filed the I-140 and 15 days later I filed the I-485 and we already received our green cards, so I think their attorney is just trying to get more money out of the EAD and AP renewals that will come if they wait, because the lawyer advised that they have file for EAD and AP now.

Topic: Filing I-485

Hello all, does an applicant need to wait for the I-140 approval to send the I-485, or can I send it without having the I-140 approval received.

My cousins I-140 was filed on June 23rd, and they want to know if they can introduce the I-485 right now.

Please advise.

Thanks

Just use your EAD, and when Green Card comes, then use that!

Go for it!!

Topic: i was waiting for CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED and then I got this...

I have received the Welcoming email and the CPO email.

1. Am I going to also receive the Approval email, or just these 2?

I need to travel on business on the 14th, my approval was on July 1st, Do you think I will receive the card before that?

I have taken an Infopass just in case, What do I need to take if I do not have an email that says I-485 approval?

Thanks as always!!
