Topic: My 485 got approved today but my wives and sons did not...Can someone help me

skganisshan

We were in the same sitiuation. My and my child's applications were approved, my wife application was pending because her FPs expired. My wife was approved one week later, after she submitted her FPs.

FPs expire after 15 month. Even if your wife dsid not get any notice, call USCIS and ask if she needs to renew her FPs, in case she does - they will send her appointment notice. THis is what happened in my case.

Ramee and Beenallover,

I see that you are in Nebraska as well. My wife is in the same boat, she got only Welcome notice email on 6/24 nothing after that.
I and our daughter were approved a week earlier, got CPO and Welcome email in the same day and got cards one week later.

Let's keep in touch.

Topic: My I-485 is approved but my wife case is still pending.

neerleo, ratrace and others who have wife's FP issues,

As I mentioned earlier I was approved on June 16. Few days earlier on June 10, I saw soft LUDs on my child and mine cases. I realized that my wife case was separated - probably becouse her FPs expired at the end of May.

Asked my wife to call the same day and request FP appointment.

She got her FP notice June 16 and went for fingerprinting June 17 (before the time, appointment was for June 24, however we were afraid that the visa will not be available)

She called FBI the next day to make sure the FPs were sent to NSC
She called NCS almost every day and tried to explain the situation (case separated because of FPs) and opened an SR.

YESTERDAY AT 10:15pm SHE GOT HER WELCOME NOTICE!!!

so, falks, if your spouse done her FPs recently, try to call them and explain the situation. I'm sure your spouses will be approved soon!

gogole,

I guess it all depends on your old attorney. Mine was my sponsor company attorney. I left that company couple of years ago. since I had a good relationsheep with this attorney, he took care of all my RFEs and always forwarded FP notices etc.
If you are afraid that the attorney can spoil your process, or will not help you with USCIS correspondence, I do recomment sending a letter to USCIS to withdraw your attorney representative.
However I feel that you should have a backup - so may be it is better to higher another attorney whom you trust and ask him to send G-28.

Gogole,

I was going to get rid of my old attorney. I searched forums and it looks like in this case you just need to send a letter explaining that your old attorney will not represent you anymore and you want all the future correspondance sent to you. However I decided to not send this letter . The reason is, for example the FP notices - USCIS usually send those to both attorney and applicant - so I felt that it would be better to have a backup in case my notice is lost..

Copies will work. You may send a copy of your 140 approval and your 485 receipt
