Topic: What is the HSMP Process?

Can ANYONE let me know what process our applications go through?

I am trying to track down a missing application and would like to understand how they physically move the application around and how the caseworker deals with it (and when they receive the physical document)!

My understanding thus far...
- receive application
- take payment
FROM THIS POINT ONWARDS, IT IS MY GUESS THAT...
- entire application scanned
- caseworker assigned and reference number received
- application transferred to caseworker?
- application sits at processing center?
- application approved and mailed back by.... ?

Please feel free to fill any gaps or incorrect assumptions above! Does the caseworker ever see the original folder and if so, when?

Hey gdwat1
Sorry to bombard you - not sure which post you will see/reply to so hoping to catch you here.

What do you mean by "they took her payment, then sent the box to the processing center. I was told I would have
to wait for it to work it's way through the system. When it was opened at the processing center (they take all of the documents and scan them, the caseworkers only ever see the scanned versions), they realised their mistake, and sent my app back to the payment processing, where it started again"

Where do they take payment?
What happens at the processing centre and does that happen before, after, in parallel with caseworkers assessments?
At what point did they finally find yours? (after they approved hers and were about to send back the documents)?

Thanks again...

Topic: HSMP waiting times

Hi all

Does anybody actually know what the correct process for HSMP is? I hear things like documents being scanned, payments centre, processing centre, caseworkers only seeing scanned versions.... can someone please verify whether this is the correct sequence of events and area?

-Package received(which area?)
-Payments taken(which area?)
-Application assigned to caseworker(is the physical package transferred?)
-Package transferred to processing centre (does this happen?)
-Scanning of documents (does this happen and in which area?)

Thanks for all your responses and support thus far...

Topic: HSMP waiting times

Hi all
I am applying from Australia also.
My application was sent in with my partners on the 24th of April - they were in the same envelope and couriered (signature obtained and successfully delivered). I have received my reference number and had payment taken - however, he has not. We have called many times and all they can tell us is that they simply cannot find it anywhere. They said the only thing we can do is file a complaint....

Our dreams of working in London have been shattered...any words of advice or previous experiences? He only just graduated in April (working and studying full time to obtain it) and HSMP have now lost that original degree...

Devastated...how do you lose an A3 sized folder full of documents? Do you think there would be any chance that they threw it out?

Topic: ADVICE ON LOST HSMP APPLICATIONS

What are your experiences? Yourself, friends, partners...What was the outcome? Specifically, myself and my partner's application was sent in one envelope - I have received my reference number but HSMP CANNOT FIND his application after many phone calls and follow ups. What should we do? What are our options considering all the originals are lost?
