Topic: OFF TOPIC - Looking to relocate to Dallas/Austin , TX...

Agree..After getting GC, housing was one of the main reasons I am looking to move to Dallas..Cant get a good house in Chicago, all old and crappy houses..Our approach is similar..I am looking for remote jobs too or onsite in Dallas only..remote jobs give u great work-life balance..

I would like to agree..Dallas does have a good job market but nothing compared to Chicago where I live now.. Chicago has way more opportunities than Dallas..I recently became a permanent resident (GC) and have been looking for full time jobs in Dallas area as my wife is hell bent upon settling down in Plano (Dallas suburb)..Even with GC and 11 yrs experience, no interview calls for the last 1.5 months..But I keep getting calls in the Chicago area..

Yes rents have become expensive..If anyone looking to settle down in Dallas just buy a single family home in Plano or Frisco..after few years these suburbs are going to shoot up so high that you would no think of buying a home that time..You wont be able to afford it as well..

Topic: Wanted to switch Job after GC

1 Year is more than enough time spent at the sponsoring employer..I know people who switched in 2 months and there was no issue..Your new employer does not need to sponsor any of your future immigration needs..

Topic: I-485 crosscharge ability

Ok if BC is in English then you do not need any attestation from Embassy in DC..Just write the affidavits from parents/raltive and you are done..

Since the BC is new you have a potential RFE to prove your birth at that time (in the 80's depending on what your wife's age is)..So you need to submit some proof like school records, naming ceremony, some religious ceremony, passport stamps etc etc which are from the 1980's to prove that she was really born in the 80's..Also affidavit from her parents and one relative like uncle or aunt that they had full knowledge of her birth at that time..Get the translation of the birth certificate attested from the UAE embassy in DC..Orginial BC + Translation attested by Embassy + Affidavits from parents/relative + Secondary proofs like school records, passport etc etc..All these will make your case full proof and there will be no delays..

Topic: i485 approved and waiting for the green card

Something strange happened..I got CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED 2 days back and now "WE MAILED YOUR NEW CARD" email yesterday for my EAD..I already got my GC approved few weeks back and I have the physical green card in hand..Don't understand why would EAD be approved now and shipped to me? Anything to be concerned? Does that mean they will give EAD and take away GC for re-consideration???

For 485 you need only the EVL from the employer..

I do not see any other reason other than saving attorney fees for self filing..Also attorney delays would be the secondary reason..

West Plano TX (Dallas suburb) beats anything hands down.. Lived in SFO, NJ, NY, Chicago, Virginia and Plano (Dallas) TX..

I have had issues with British with Transit visa..I was going to get married and just few days before leaving someone mentioned transit visa to me..I said what non-sense, but when I looked up it was indeed true..It was such a mess..It is definitely a robbery..

Yes that is what I was trying to explain in my previous post..I myself got approved through my wife who was born in Saudi and lived there only for 4 months as a baby, she is an Indian..All I was trying to tell in my previous post was that some "USCIS officers" rejected few CC applications with this reason..So not all USCIS officers are well educated with the CC rule..So I just hope everyone who applies for CC gets a officer who knows what CC means..
