My experience:
Some useful info. Here a few things that I found were interesting:
The USCIS representative told me that my application (my wife’s as well) was in Dallas office but no officer was working on it. Name check, background check & FBI check was all clear for both our applications.
She wanted to assign my case to an Immigration Officer but discovered that my application receipt date at Texas service center was Sep 12, 2007. I told her that my application actually has receipt date of July 06, 2007 at Vermont service center (VSC) and my notice date is Sep 12, 07. I told her that later our cases were later transferred by VSC to Texas service center (which was on Sep 12 as well). She told me that in their database my application will be treated as if it was received on Sep 12, 07 and not July 06, 2007. I asked her if she could correct this in their system. She told me she is not allowed to do it but said it should be corrected and asked me to contact Texas service center thru mail and describe them situation and attach the 485 receipt notice from VSC so that Texas service center can correct the receipt date to Jul 06, 2007 in their system.
So I am not sure if they would update reciept dates in their system. Has someone done something like this before? ANy suggestions |

Hi All,
I have info-pass appointment tommorrow. Reading thru forums I understand that one can ask Name check status, background check status, biometerics uploaded or not or general status etc. My PD is Feb2004 and RD is 09July07. At this point (after last weeks bulletin) I am not sure if it is even going to help in any case. Any suggestions or links are welcome.

I contacted my congressman's office and they told me that they would help me but wanted my employer signature on a form available on their website.
I am not sure if my employer will do it but is this the case for all congressional enquiries? |
Topic: Case transferred from VSC to TSC..
My question is do we get a new receipt number (797C document) when case is transferred from Vermont service center to Texas. All I recevied from TSC was email notification saying case has been transffered. Is there any other document that USCIS needs to send?

When I go to book InfoPass appointment online, I see the date selection buttons greyed out. Does that means they are out of appointments for Aug/Sep? Or is there something I missed? |
