AOS Interview case:   (0 comments)

Labor Filed (Priority Date):09 Oct 2006USCIS Received Date (I-485):19 Dec 2006
Case Transferred to NBC:02 Jan 2008Interview Notice Issued:01 Feb 2008
Interview Notice Received:05 Feb 2008Interview Date:06 Mar 2008
Interview Location:San Diego, CAReason for Interview:
Interview Status:clearedInterview Experience:My wife fingerprints were rejected twice so she needed to sign a specific form in the interview and a supervisor should sign it as well. The supervisor wasn't available so we didnt get any visa stamp on her passport, but the USCIS officer (a very nice person btw) said he reserved the visa number (since we are EB2 , current), and we should be expecting the card within 2-3 weeks. We've received the approval notice exactly 2 weeks later. It was cleared on the same day. No LUDs though. My wife needed to visit local USCIS office again to sign another I-89 doc and have its Passport stamp for 6 months (instead of 1 year - go figure). Waiting for the card. Hopefully will be soon. Good luck Update Nov 12 2008 We got the approval notice (from the local office) On March 2008. Till now, we haven't received the card. We already got 2 stamps in the passport. (the local office gives only for 6 months each time). The case still shows that on Jan 2nd 2008 the file has been transferred to the local office for an interview. (Because of bad processing of FP. Twice. The case was approved right on the spot, Approval notice received 2 weeks later). After ENDLESS infopass visits and phone calls to the customer service, we've found out that the case was accidentally archived w/o having it: 1. Marked as approved 2. Ordering the card The local office didn't have any records of the 2 stamps in their records. I was shocked. I knew USCIS are a mess, but that was by far the most weird thing I've ever imagined. OK. So we've asked them to pull the file out of the archive. They did it. But accidentally (yes again) it went straight to TSC w/o routing it to the local office first. Its been 3 weeks already since it arrived to TSC. and we are just waiting now... Got hard LUD on 11/25 - file is pending in the office in which it was transferred to (Its the first LUD since Jan 2nd where the file has been transferred to a local office). Got soft LUDs on 11/26, 11/27, 11/28. Have no idea what these good for yet. Jan 20th 2009. We decided to call USCIS. Got TSC on the line. We explained the situation to the IO. She insisted that our case is still pending and no approved. I said we have the Approval Notice from march 6th 2008. i.e. almost 11 months back. She said we need to have an infopass. We said we had several of them, and even got an email on Dec 1st 2008 from the Local Office saying the card is in production and we need to wait for 90 days. She said the card is definitely not in production. It is archived in the TSC archived pending. I said it is impossible, and mentioned that being the primary, I and my kids got our GC more than year ago (Jan 2nd 2008). She said she can take a look and talk with her supervisor. She took my cell phone number and said she would probably need 4-5 days to pull the file from TSC archives. She promised she will back to me in 1-2 hours. Couple hours later, she called me to my cell, saying that I am right. She just got an email from the Local Office confirming everything. The case was approved on March 6th 2008 and it was just in a dead-lock state. She said she would take care of it. few hours later I saw the card production email in my Inbox. On Jan 21st, I got a phone call 5:45AM from TSC. But since I was asleep, I missed it. 45 minutes later she called again asking if I checked online ? I thanked her so many times. I couldn't believe it. We went through so many difficulties and at the end, that IO lady was extremely helpful. Good to know that USCIS has these kind of people that DO care. The welcome message email was sent to me on Jan 21st as well. Got my spouse card yesterday Jan 26 2009. It has the correct date on it - March 6th 2008.

>It is confusing. At least I've received my approval notice in mail. I mean I have a physical proof that I'm approved.
>It'd be nice to get actual green card though. I don't know if should be worrying about this situation.

Same here. Spouse got the physical approval notice by mail mid March 2008, and 2 I-551 stamps. But no card as of today. Case is still "pending".

In one of my RFEs that I got I had the following similar statement:

"You should send us a response within three (6) weeks from the time you receive that notice."

Go figure...

> Incompetence - that they cannot even finish a simple task at the end of the process.

You got that right. Again, if you look at my previous posts and my profile, you won't believe it can be so tough. I lost any hope in that system.

if you recv the card production email, you just need to wait for 60 days and then they will send you a new one.

in our case we got the I-551 stamps

mistakes : archiving the file accidentally, it took several months to discover that and pull it out, then it went to the wrong office.

Hi,

more than 10 months after the approval, still no card. USCIS had done several mistakes and we need to wait for them to fix it.

Woo... Wait a sec. 5 years ??? what the heck ? Do you have any stamp? If you do, I think you can apply for citizenship even w/o the card.

I feel soooo sorry about those years. Its awful.

Topic: I-485 Dependants Approvals?

Look at my case (485 - Interview of my spouse). I'm trying to resolve that for the last 9+ months.
Local center sends me to Texas and Texas sends me to Local center.

Have a little experiment: Call Texas few times, and you'll get several different answers to your problems. Sometimes you can speak with 5 different representative and receive 7 different answers...

In order to move the file back to the service center, make an infopass, explain them the situation, and they should do that for you.

Good luck.
