Topic: Immunization for Medicals - what all is needed?

My wife and I are going to India (can't wait for saturday, dec 13th). Although it may take years before my PD becomes current, I at least want to have all immunization records straight for our medicals (whenever that happens). I can bring all necessary documentation.

Is there a list of immunization available? If there is a standard form, will help if a link to that is posted.

Thank you.

Topic: Country based GC - Sucks bigtime !!!

Applicants from countries like China, India and some others are sufferring like anything due to this bullshit. I hope someone in congress realizes this and bring an end to it. Just not acceptable.

There are several posts on this subject. I hear you but suspect that like other similar posts, this post will also end up being a point of unnecessary and divisive argument. It doesn't help to argue the logic behind such law which may not be there. So, just for the sake of harmony, lets not take this argument any further. This discussion has happened several times and has been a futile exercise.

Topic: When do you give up?

Rheinmeister,

I've been here 12 years, changing H1Bs and EB cases. I was like you, I could not take a given job any more and had to switch. I've done it 3 times. It gave me a temporary release of feeling that I am growing professionally and moving up in the corporate world, but it only hid the inevitable... Now, I am in my 3rd EB3 [I missed my EB2 status by 2 months of experience... :( I did not know some tricky USCIS rules how they counted experience when I switched the 3rd time] and still stuck. If I stayed with the first job, I would get my GC in ~2006 (at worst, 2007) and be free. At this point, I have overgrown my current job and title, but all I say to myself: "squeez your teeth and go to work."

At least, you have a home country to go to, I don't. USSR does not exist anymore for me. I have no idea what the f*ck is Ukraine (I don't even know the language) and I have no ties with any other former Soviet states. Where the f*ck shall I go? If I were you, I could have thought going home. Ireland is not bad at all. I lived there for a while as I did in several other countries.

My advise to you... you are very close to the finish line. Just stick to it and wait. Good luck.

Thank you. This morning I was thinking that I had enough. My employer pays me well but there is nothing like job satisfaction. After reading your experience, I think I should just suck it up and learn to live with it for now. There will be plenty of opportunities once I get my GC which I will have happen under Obama's administration.

Topic: L1A - EB1C- i140 approved - FP1 called

Apologies for posting an unrelated post.

I am in the US on H1, working as a division manager with a staff of six. If I go to my company's Canada office, work there for a year, can my company apply for EB1C on my behalf?

Thinking that EB2 is going to take forever so if there is a shortcut to GC, might as well take advantage of that.

Topic: Changing Job, while on Work Permit

I am thinking of accepting a job offer in Toranto. Presently I am on H1B in the US. Any thoughts on how long it takes to get a Work Permit and how expensive it is? Any rules/regulations as who has to bear the cost of work permit?

On a different note, how is it to work in Torando (culturally, at work, people, climate, etc.)?

Topic: Linking the EB dates

Dear Wtng4Ever ,
Mine I-485 was processed from Nebraska service center. Below are the details how the events happened:

Eb-3 I-140 approved in Sepetmber 2006 (TEXAS)
July 2007- filed the I-485 (NEBRASKA)
Pending EB-2 at backlog got approved some time in August 2007
applied I-140 in september 2007 (Texas)
I-140 approved in July 2008
Interfiled at NEBRASKA in August 2008
therefate called USCIS customer service about 10 times in two weeks period.
Issued RFE in October regarding Birth certificate in October
November 5 submitted the affidivit
Nov 13 got approved.

Hopefully this helps & Good Luck

Rishi, Congrats and thanks for sharing the details. Your first and second I140 both were with the same employer? If you changed employers, did you previous employer revoke your EB3 I140?

I haven't found too many succesfful interlinking cases where one has changed employers.

Thanks.

Topic: Buffalo : Notarized Photocopies

Thanks for the info. Again, certification has to be done by a notary ? Am I right?

That'r right. They will put their notary stamp and sign. They will also put a "certify" or "true copy" stamp and may/may not write the date.

Topic: Buffalo : Notarized Photocopies

I recently sent certified copies and I think that what they are looking for.

Notorization is when, for example, someone notorizes that the document was signed in by the person on paper. So, for example, transfer of power papers will have to be notorized (and not certified) and it would mean tht the notory was preent to ensure that the actual owner (who will have to show his/her ID to the notary) signed the will and the signatures are authentic.

You certifiy when someone has to only certify that it is a "true copy". The notary will put his/her signature and put "certify" or "true copy" stamp.

Hope this helps.

p.s. by the way, in my city in the US, they typically charge $10 per copy. I was able to find one that did for $7. $20 is a lot.

Topic: Linking the EB dates

I want to change employer and port my PD. Recently four somewhat conflicting options onf porting issue were givne by four different lawyers. (see http://www.lawbench.com/immigration-forum/1239/using-priority-date-from-an-old-labor-i-140,
http://www.lawbench.com/immigration-forum/1241/using-priority-date-from-an-old-labor-i-140, http://www.lawbench.com/immigration-forum/1240/using-priority-date-from-an-old-labor-i-140)

The opinions vary from yes (one can change employers and port PD even if the previous employer revokes approved I-140) to no (can only happen if it is same employer and porting is, for example, from EB3 to EB2) How many trackitt members have changed employers and been successful in porting their PDs?

Thanks.
