Topic: Probability of Interview
that's interesting, i wonder what brought you to Argentina all the way down from Germany. That's a looooong way.
Nice people in both Cordoba and San Luis. Cordoba, depending where probably a little more hectic, but San Luis very much laid back, not a whole lot going on there...
less than 10% is better than the 60% i threw out there before :)
Thanks! |
Topic: Probability of Interview
yeah, that's what i thought, just a random thing...
although I am sure you can assign a probability. It's gotta be a way to say something like 6 out of 10 applicants get called...
I just don't know if there is any info about it.
thank you though. |
Topic: Probability of Interview
Who gets called to an I-485 interview after I-140 is approved?
Is it random? or is there a pattern that indicates that one being from a certain country o a certain category gets the call?
Or even an specific event that raises a flag in the application?
I will most likely go unemployed in the next few weeks and the outlook to find a similar job is rather dark given the weak economy, so i am trying to assess the probability that i will get called to an interview.
Thank you all. |
Topic: Has anyone been deported @ POE because they were jobless on AP when I-485 pending?
i think you are playing with fire.
Remember you have to be employed or have a job offer at the moment the GC is issued. So, what would yo do if the USCIS requests evidence that you are employed or you have an offer before they issue your GC?
I would be looking for a job if i were you, get GC first, then go to India.
Hang in there. |
Topic: I-140 and 485 Filed Can we change Employer Now
You are in good shape, as long as you find another job in the same field.
If you can obtain copies of i-140 approval and labor certificate, it would be great.
even if your sponsoring employer revokes i-140 you are still in good shape, you will have to be prepared invoke AC21 andto answer any potential RFE USCIS issues to you.
Good luck! |
Topic: I 485 Denial notice email
Wtng4Ever,
You have misinterpreted my post. I didn't not imply you have to hide your change of employment, i only said that you are not obligated to inform unless the USCIS inquires. If they do inquire, you THEN have the obligation to respond, and you must invoke AC-21, no doubt about that... |
Topic: I 485 Denial notice email
revoking an approved i-140 after 180 or more days of i-485 pending bears no effect... |
Topic: I 485 Denial notice email
suu1980, that's not what vaitheeswaran means,
he/she is only saying not to send any AC21 letter to the USCIS. It is not your obligation to inform the USCIS that you are using AC21 to switch employers. People do it because they want to be transparent with the USCIS up front, but sending the letter raises questions within IO's...
so he is only saying to keep quite about it and respond only when USCIS inquires, it is your obligation to respond to any RFE's issued and come transparent with the USCIS, clarifying your change of employement and possibly submitting letter of employment from the new company that verifies same duties as described in the labor certificate, only if they inquired.
Hope that helps. |
Topic: I 485 Denial notice email
this has to be a mistake sep04, i doubt you have a problem even if your prior employer revoked your approved i-140, since your i-485 has been pending for more than 180 days... you should be fine... |
Topic: Trillions of dollar debt
I would think it is a good thing for the immigration community.
It's clear the US needs money to balance the huge deficit, so...
1. you cut spending (wars, military budgets, benefits for the elder, education), which won't happen;
2. you raise taxes (it will happen to a certain degree)
those 2 together won't do the trick because simply demographis. As baby boomers retire and life expectancy extends with medical technology, the retiree portion of the population will grow faster than the working force, meaning more benefits for the elder and less taxes collected, the social security system will collapse. This will happen in a scneario with benefits being low and taxes high, so, the US will be force to loose their immigration policy and bring a whole lot more immigrants than the 140K annual, so more taxes can be collected... then taxing may be not so bad...
Now, yeah, it pisses me off that we are privatizing profits and socializing losses. It's clear we'll pay the luxury and parties of people who should be thrown their asses in jail. What are you going to do about it?
1. You could bitch, moan, and whine all you want, won't help. Guarantee.
2. You do a little thinking a may arrive to the conclusion that it may not be as bad as you think it is, so you let it go...
Just here to help :)
Have faith. |
