Topic: Problem in Medical Test - What is the process

They will ask for additional tests for the swollen nodes. Swelling of lymph nodes has many causes : lymphoma, inflammation, infection..etc. This means + 2 delay but you won't be denied.

Topic: Destination

Federal Skilled worker permanent resident planing to land. Should the landing be in the same destination documendted in the comfirmation of PR (COPR) ? For example, if ON is the destination listed on COPR, can I still land in BC?

What is the impact of the destination listed in the COPR?
Should the residence be in the destination province ONLY?
What if my job is the BC and the destinastion on the COPR is ON? Should the mailing address I provide at the port of entry to receive the PR card be in the destination province?
I appreciate any input about the significance of desitination on COPR and whether or not it has any restriction on residence/working in Canada.

Topic: Will Buffalo office reject my application without IELTS, or request IELTS results?

Save time and go to take IELTS. Don't wait for the AOR. Scheduling IELTS can be difficult. Prepare well for the exam as the exam is tricky and you have to know how to approach it to obtain the highest scores poosible. Once you get the AOR and your file file number, write a request to IELTS center to forward your result to Buffalo with your file number.

Topic: Temporary work permit while permanent resident application is in process

My medicals reached ottawa on August 14 08. I have to move to Canada by end of June 2009 as the starting date of my job is July 2009. I wonder if I will hear from Buffalo from now until mid of next year. otherwise I will apply for temporary work permit. Many people wait for long times after medicals exceeding 6-8 months) and I hope I will not be one of them!!

Topic: Temporary work permit while permanent resident application is in process

I will need another USA visa to get back to the States. Even if I get the PR, I still need a US entry visa. However, your chances to get the US visa with the canadian PR is much higher than being on temporary work permit.

I will start my job in canada on 7/09. My PR application reached the stage of medical exams.(reached ottawa). I am sure if I will be able to hear from Buffal by 5/09. Otherwise I will apply for temporary visa around that time.

Topic: Temporary work permit while permanent resident application is in process

Patrick-

I am in the same boat. I also have a job offer. My PR application is still in processing at Buffalo center, NY (although I have reached the prefinal stages, medical test submission). I am very concerned that my PR application will take longer than expected and ruin my plan in joining my job at the designated date of my job. I called the CIC in canada and the immigration officer told me you can apply to work permit where you reside (meaning USA) and i won't affect my PR application as the two are twp separate things. I will wait few months and , if I don't hear from buffalo, I will submit my application for temporary work permit at the canadian consulate at Buffalo, NY. Hope this helps. Update me if you have nay info in this regard.
