It won't be rejected. Applications sent until August 28 at wrong service centers will be routed to the correct center according to USCIS news release located at http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/UpdateDirectFiling062107.pdf.

Yes, you can absolutely file I-485 by yourself. The only thing you need from your employer is "letter of employment." This letter typically states your position, salary, and availability of the position on permanent basis.

BTW, I am not from iGate.

I don't think that they are done with March filings. I applied in March and haven't heard anything.
