Topic: do i need pay AP renew fee when i applied AP with I-485 (1010$) in 2008?

You have to pay the AP Fee, unfortunately you have to pay every time you renew it.

Topic: Paroled until June 29, 2009

Hi. Don't follow the stamped date on your passport. You should read the AP document and you will find there the expiration date of you AP document which is normally a year after it was approved! I travelled last august and the IO stamped " Paroled until August 2009". My AP will expire on March 3, 2009 so If I travel after March 3, 2009 then I won't be able to use the AP even if there is a stamped date which is August 2009.

Topic: AP Travel - JFK or EWR ?

I agree with HiGc. the expiration date of your new I-94 is not the expiration of AP. The IO will stamp "Paroled until (date)" which is one year after your entry. The expiration of AP is one year after is was issued! I used my AP when I left USA and entered Honolulu..same thing they will get your docs and take you to a different room where they will verify your status in the computer and have your I-94 and AP document stamped. They asked me the name of my father and mother which I think is really dumb!

Topic: Should I travel using visa or the AP

Hi. Its advisable to travel with your visa but using AP will be ok too. I travelled with AP and had no problems. If you use your visa then they wont ask you a lot of questions when you enter USA.

Topic: AP application ltr - what to write?

Hi. I just asked my lawyer about the same problem that you have regarding traveling with AP for vacation/pleasure. My lawyer told me that as long as the reason for travel is bona fide, it does not have to be an emergent reason. If the reason why you are going back to your home country is to visit/spend time with your family/parents for the holidays then use that as the reason why you are applying for the AP.

Topic: Help!

Hi! You can use your passport as an ID if you dont have one right now. There are a lot of ways to expedite EAD before the 90th day:
1. Write a letter to USCIS where you filed your application stating the reason why you need to expedite your EAD
2. Schedule an infopass to talk to the immigration officer as soon as you reach the 90th day
3. Write an email to the ombudsman stating that you need help to expedite your EAD application.
You can browse the I765 discussion forum for the email add of the ombudsman and even a sample letter that people used to expedite their application.

Topic: How long it needs to renew EAD and AP?

Are you planning to renew your H1B? If not, then you have to apply for EAD ASAP. It's advisable to renew your H1B even though you can renew your EAD. EAD/AP can be renewed 120 days before it expire.

Topic: Employment letter while traveling on AP

HI. As long as you have a valid H1B stamped on your passport then you don't have to worry about providing an employment letter.Dont' show them your AP unless the IO asked you since you can re -enter US just by your valid H1B alone. Just in case, bring with you your last 3 months of pay stub to show that you are employed with the company who sponsored your H1B. I re-entered with my H1B and no question asked.
