Topic: Aus people, how long does HSMP second step (passport to Canberra) take?

Fellow Aussies, I'll share my experience.

Once you've received your HSMP approval letter, you apply for your Entry Clearance through www.britaus.net. There is a lot of useful information on that site so make sure you read it, then fill in the application form at http://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/

Once you've completed the form, you'll be prompted to book your biometrics appointment. I was fortunate and was able to book in for the next day. Once you've had your biometrics taken and your application forms stamped, send them off to Canberra. As mentioned, driving down and submitting the documents in person will not fast track your application. Expect a wait of 3 weeks, however I received a confirmation mail from the High Commission confirming approval and courier tracking number in 2 weeks!

I'm still waiting to hear back from the Home Office, but the britaus.net website says to expect a response within 15 days.
